hey lads and lasses !
It can be abit of a adventure trying to find the best cat toy to say the least ! but if you have a passion for your cat you will go to great lengths to get that special something for your kitty :) . Finding that perfect item for your kitty can be a matter of life and death if he/she just aloofly walks away from it disinterested after searching and spending your hard earned cash ! what a anti climax !!.
I personally think you don't have to spend lots of money on cat toys (although there is nothing wrong with this) . An old cardboard box always makes my kitty's pupils dilate ! endless hours of fun just from an old cardboard box sitting in your garage doing nothing. I even made use of my old dressing gown tie by tying it to a door handle ! if that's not DIY cat happy i don't know what is ..
Today there is a huge variety of toys to choose from it just boggles the mind ! so many different ways of searching for that perfect item, through the internet, car boots, shops and also cat fairs. Knowing your cats personality is a big must ! it's no good buying a cat tunnel if the meer sight of it makes your cat run and huddle in the corner if its claustrophobic !.
Dont be scared in having a good mooch in those shops and online because buying toys for your kitty is essential for his/her well being, especially if its a indoor cat. certain toys can promote exercise and intellectual play so keeps your cat occupied.
Its very important to keep your cat occupied and free from boredom to keep him/her healthy, they don't really have 9 lives u know ! . Obviously we love our kitty cats and want them to be a member of our families for a long time to come so investing in their health is beneficial to us. Keep your cat happy and you will be happy safe in the knowledge him/her is healthy mentally.
So finding the best cat toy is not just about buying the first thing we come across, it's about knowing your cat and what it might like. It does'nt have to be expensive and it does'nt have to be an old boot lace ! the choice is yours, that's the beauty of it. Finding the best cat toy really is in the eye of the beholder...the cat. Thanks for reading and i hope this article helped.
Hi Hayley, when I get a new follower I like to reciprocate and go and read a few of their articles, to see what they are all about. I like your story, unfortunately I'm a dog man, but a pet is a pet. One of my Grand sons has cats and whenever we visit I am fascinated in the behaviour of the one. On his return from work the cat will actually talk to him, and if he ignores it, beware it turns to attack mode and that way gets his attention. Nothing wrong with cats, and nothing wrong with your article, enjoyed it, keep going.
hi rob , im a newbie so only have two articles , so i bet it was quick reading for you then ! nothin wrong with dog people i love dogs ..all animals :) cats are funny little creatures lol just like humans in alot of ways. sounds to me that cat had a bad case of attention there bless it ! thanks :)
Newbie or not, I only started in middle Jan this year so also a newbie, just keep on writing you have a nice style. Your sense of fun comes through in your writing, develop that, but mostly enjoy writing.
For some reason our cats rarely play with toys, whatever type we have tried. Gracie frequently has a once a day "loony" moment when she leaps about and attacks the corner of the rug. This lasts about 20 seconds then she lies down! The 2 of them seem to have left their kitten days behind them. :-) Good article though and some good ideas on your site.
It all depends on their personality doesnt it ? and what kind of environment they have grown up. Your so lucky your cat has only ONE 'loony day' moment ! mine seem to be on permanent hyper mode ! is your cat a out door ? all three of mine are indoor , i think this has a impact as well. my female tabby is totally disinterested in scratching posts but my other two boys love them ! my female 'Minnie' loves them balls with bells in and the lads play with anything they can get their devil paws on ! thank you for your comments :)
Our two have cat flap access and come and go at will. More time in than out in the winter. Probably find plenty to keep them amused. They are not the best of mates so go their separate ways.
