Clutter Busting

A messy house leads to a messy life - not my words but the words of my auntie. Clutter busting is a necessity if your house is starting to get you down. Many different types of depression and mental anguish that can be linked to overcrowding of items in your house and in this article we will cover a few clutter busting tips to solve your problem.

The first clutter busting tip brings us to the subject most people love to hate - junk mail. I cannot begin to tell you how annoying it is to pick up this mail from the porch floor every morning. It's got worse lately because they make some of the junk mail look like actual bills or statements so you can't help yourself from opening them. DO NOT keep this mail, pick it up and chuck it away at once ( in a paper recycle bag or bin if possible ).

Kitchens can often be a nightmare when it comes to mess and the second clutter busting tip covers this. If you look at all the surfaces in your kitchen take note of the amount of space that appliances take up. Now try to imagine then amount of space that you would have by removing the appliances - quite a difference.

You'll be forgiven for thinking the next tip is directed at women but it's really not. I'm male and I have to many items of clothing - full stop. Nearly all of us could do with getting rid of at least six items of clothing from our wardrobe or closet. Go through your clothing and try to remember when the last time you wore certain items was. I promise you'll find at least six items that you could do without.

Clutter busting can come to a standstill when you approach the subject of kids. If you have children you will know exactly what I mean. I cannot remember the last time I saw the carpet in my sons bedroom - there are that many toys littered about. At the end of the day he is only six and you wouldn't expect him to have a grasp on keeping rooms tidy yet. Toys reside in chests.boxes, cupboards - not all over the bedroom floor.

These tips here are very simple clutter busting ideas that can be used by anyone. Remember, decluttering should be easy and simple things like folding your clothes can work wonders. Good luck with tidying up your home.

I totally agree, and believe the "fung-shwey" of the space you are in gives off either good or negative energies in and of itself. I am OCD so I cannot stand a dirty living space, and being in the military has only made this worse lol. My mom could use some of these tips especially the mail, I cannot remeber the last time I went to her house and say the corner table in the kitchen!
