Do you often find yourself walking through rooms in your house only to stop and start putting things away - if so you could well be in need of some simple clutter busting ideas. We all have box-type folders for our statements etc but how many of us actually remember to use them for every piece of paper we get - not many of us I bet!
Papers are just an example of a clutter problem, there are a lot more. Here are a few tips I implement to my everyday life to avoid a clutter problem. If you are a creature of habit then chances are your house may well be more cluttered than the next person. Why do I say this? Well, clutter is a bad habit - not putting things away is a habit you need to break. As far as clutter busting ideas goes this is a very important, initial one.
The second, important clutter busting ideas with involve the amount of work you want to handle at any given time. Manageable amounts of work every time you embark on a declutter session is much more likely to be effective. There is nothing worse than working for a couple of hours only to look up and see that you have mountains of work left to do.
One of the more important clutter busting ideas is to be reasonably clinical when it comes to the declutter. Some items may be really close to your heart but be honest - when was the last time you used or looked at the items? In most cases the answer will be 'a long time ago'. For clutter busting ideas to be successful you will need to ignore your heart and get rid.
Once you have sorted out a mass of clutter into boxes or bags then remember what you are doing all this for - discard the clutter. It's no use carrying out this work and then leaving things in boxes, that's just more clutter but this time in boxes! Donations are a wonderful solution to this. A box stuffed with items is very easy to put in the back of the car and drive to a charity shop, get out, then donate. This is very clinical and you are helping people who are maybe a little worse off than you and could need the money these items bring.
The clutter busting ideas mentioned here are very simple and cost you nothing. Learning to declutter is in fact breaking a bad habit and can leave your house looking spacious and in order.
