Check out how to easily clean chocolate stains out of the carpet
I will show you the most common and effective method against chocolate dirt that might appear on your home rug. You can thank me later. Attention – the method is suitable for both natural and synthetic carpets:
- If the chocolate stain has been just made and it is mostly liquid, but not hard, then blot with a clean cloth at first.
- On the other side, if not liquid, the chocolate spot should be at first scraped off. Use a sharp knife to remove the excesses. If needed, use the vacuum cleaner to get rid of all the tiny chocolate pieces.
- Now, continue with the main cleaning procedure. At first, pre-treat it by covering it with sheets of paper.
- You will use ordinary high temperature – of your iron – to remove the stains by making it stick to the paper.
- Iron the paper for at least 5 minutes and the stain will be gone!
The iron procedure did not work? Don`t worry, here is one more thing you can try to save your carpet from your chocolate obsessions:
- Scrape off the excesses again.
- Apply few drops of your dish washing soap to 200 ml lukewarm water.
- Insert the liquid into a spray bottle and start blotting the chocolate stain till it`s gone
- Finish with thorough vacuuming or for better results – steaming!
