A few months back I had the misfortune of my vacuum cleaner breaking down. I say a misfortune but as it turns out the new one I got was the VAX Mach Air. It's one of the best that's been around.
I know it sounds silly to say that you've got a cracking hoover as nobody really likes to doing the chores.
For me though, I'm in awe with this thing. It makes me wish I went into engineering so I could be seeing how the technology is put together.
I mean, when I fired this thing up for the first time, the suction off it nearly lifted the carpet up. (That would speak volumes for the carpet fitter who lay it.)
Anyway, I don't think I've done the vacuuming as much since this thing came in, so ladies, that's the sort of machine you want to have around.
It's an awesome machine.
The reach it has as well. My old vacuum I used to have to get the extension cable out to be able to do the stair case. This thing comes with about 15 metres of cord. Less messing around.
Speaking about cords, the only thing I noticed that it doesn't have is the auto cord rewind. That's a bit of a bummer. It probably takes longer to wrap the cord back up than it does to run it around the house.
I think myself it's one that's going to rival Dyson. The technology seems pretty similar but then again, there's a lot of modern tech coming out and they all seem to be revolving around this wind tunnel thing.
Whatever that is. One thing's for sure...It's doing something right.
It doesn't need cleaning either. The filter that is. It's a lifetime one and it's one of the other things I like about the machine. You can take a brush to it, give a brush down and it's back as good as new.
Emptying is a breeze too. Press a button, empty it out, flick your wrist and then pop it back onto the unit.
Pure simplicity at its best.
...Yeah, I know I'm easily amused.
There's a video of it published on the VAX mach air review, where you can see it in action.
The only thing I can't tell you is whether you'll be able to get one or not. I noticed when I was looking around earlier that it's mainly the UK they're available. It's the VAX brand but from what I was reading there's someone else owns them and their part of the Hoover brand.
If you ever get a chance to get one, I'd go for it. Forget Dyson. This models cheaper and far superior. Well...In my opinion anyway.
Enjoyed your review and the videos... Too bad it is not available in USA; would try it out. Mine is dying! :-(
HI Sherry, Glad you like it and sorry you can't get one in the US. :). The Videos on the other site were pulled from Youtube. Not me hoovering. I'd have had the handle off it. That turns into a wand when you take it off and attach the hose to it. It's supa cool.
