Cappuccino And Capuchin

When we are talking about cappuccino, we are talking about a coffee drink that is a mixture of espresso and high steamed milk. Making cappuccino needs coffee machine, originated from the espresso coffee machine by adding the milk steamer into the machine. It did not take too long for the Italian to invent the cappuccino machine after the espresso machine being invented on the early 20th.

The words of Cappuccino originally comes from The Capuchin , where in Italian is also called Il Cappuccino, a monk of one of Roman Catholic Order in Italy.

These monks wear a robe with a brown color which is resembling the color of the mixture of the espresso drink with milk, called cappuccino that is very famous world-wide now.

The Capuchin

Under the church of Santa Maria di Concezione in Rome, thousand of the Capuchin's bones arranged along the wall and various decorations. There are bones of around 4000 Capuchins , and in this place . Here the Capuchin will come and pray, and they see this as a kind of hymn to life.

On the 18th century until half of 19th century Capuchin Order suffered from the secularization , but still survived. Capuchin is the poorest of all orders.

The Capuchin inspired their name of The Capuchin Monkey, a species of primate found in Central of South America. This monkey has a brown and creamy color, which is the color of the Capuchin Monk's Robe and the color of the cappuccino drink.

The Capuchin were separate from other Franciscan on the 1525, as they wanted to live back to the origin of the Orders. They wore a pair of sandals without socks. A robe with a hood, called Capuce and traditionally Capuchin grew beard.

They live close to the nature, trying to help other as they are “ brothers of all people”and they live in a very simple way.

The Cappuccino

Not like the The Capuchin that has become less and less popular, the cappuccino drink becomes very popular after the World War II. They started to serve the beverages as they have the espresso machine equipped with the milk steamer for Cappuccino. Also people started to have more money to spend time in the coffee shop to drink cappuccino.

Cappuccino remained largely as Italian drink until nineteen fifties, and it a started to replace the British habit of drinking coffee and milk.

Now cappuccino is spreading all over the world as one of the favorite drink.

If you want to taste the real cappuccino you can go to Rome, while visiting The Capuchin Museum near the best coffee-house in Via Veneto,
