A jewellery sale can be very tempting as we all love handmade jewellery as much as we like a bargain and to be able to get value for our hard earned money. Should we make our purchase now or should we wait for the sale is a dilemma that many of us have to face.
Before you go in search for your sale jewellery here are a few tips that will help you to make wise choices as a bargain is only a bargain if it is a piece that you are in need of.
The first thing that you have to determine is why the shop is having a sale. You will different types of sales and one of these is where the store will be offering only part of their stock at reduced rates and the other is where they will be offering all there pieces of handmade jewellery at discounted prices.
If it is the first of these then the reason these piece will have been discounted is that these are end of range pieces and the store wants to make room for the next seasons goods and new designs.
If it is the second reason this could be a closing down sale or the store is going through a refurbishment so they need to sell all their stock and this is when you will find a real bargain and many of the pieces will still be this seasons designs. When you are looking through the designs always keep the question in your head “do I really need this piece?” It is at sales like this when we can get carried away with purchasing far more than we need and also spending more than our budget allows.
You will find many different handmade jewellery designs in the sale, lockets, watches, necklaces, rings and bracelets but your ideal piece may not be in the sale. If you see a piece that has not been reduced and that is your perfect piece do not be afraid to ask the jewellery for a discount as in many cases you will receive one as they do not want to miss a sale.
When you have made your purchase you must remember to keep your receipt in case you have any problems with your piece and it has to be returned. Remember just because you have purchased your piece of unique handmade jewellery in the sale it does not mean you do not have your rights.
Many pieces may have been reduced because there is some small fault and if this is the case this has to be shown to you. It could be that there is a stone missing from a pair of earrings, that a glass bead has cracked in a beaded necklace or there is a scratch on a polished stone in a unique pendant designs. It has to be made clear to you that there is a fault and it is then up to you if you still think that the piece is value for money.
You have to keep all these things in mind when you are shopping in the jewellery sale but this must not stop you having fun making your purchases. This may be the ideal time to purchase the ring that you have been wanting at the price that you can afford, the necklace that you have been looking at but has been out of your price range or just to stock up on pieces that you are going to give as gifts to family and friends. Have a day out with a friend looking at pieces of handmade jewellery in the sale and you will be able to give each other advice on your purchases.
Many pieces of handmade jewellery can be very expensive so when we see that our favourite store has a jewellery sale section we are there for the store opening wanting to see if the piece we have been looking for has been reduced and if we can purchase any bargains.
