Black Friday use to be a day where midnight owls and deal seekers came together. Where friends would meet up at a store not only to get the best deal on the item they were seeking but also to spend time with friends. Let’s not forget Black Friday was a reason for those who want to do something late at night but do not want to go club hopping or the bar.
What happened to those purposes for Black Friday? Today all I read about is trampling in the lines when stores open. Let’s not forget all the violence starting to rise in the lines. Black Friday is a day dedicated for Christmas deals.
Last time I checked Christmas is a time for family and friends to get together to show love to each other. Reading all the newspapers it looks like the meaning of Black Friday is slowly going away just like everything we believe.
I remember when Holiday events were special and looked forward to. Today it seems everything can be over looked because of the state the economy is in. I didn’t know that love could be turned off like a light switch.
A recession is believed to drain people of everything they believe and enjoy. We all know that a recession is not a living and breathing thing so it cannot drain people of everything they believe and enjoy. I believe that all of this is all mental.
As humans we have the capabilities to distinguish between what is good and bad. Just because it’s a recession doesn’t mean we have to forget are neighbors and the ones we love. A recession doesn’t mean that we have to be violent towards one another to save 5 dollars on an item.
What shoppers don’t understand is that those items they seek for so cheap will be cheaper after the holidays. I understand this does go against the meaning of Christmas but everything today is changing why not change the rotation of when everyone receives their gifts.
Remember a recession can take everything we believe away from one another. A recession cannot take away your love for friends and family. I believe that since a recession is not a living and breathing thing that with the right mindset and will we can overcome the sadness a recession brings and lift ourselves up.
Remember during a recession you are not alone and there are many people out their going through the same thing. Next time you’re in line be nice to the person next to you because you never know when you might need their help.
