The book club meets in two weeks. You have not bought your book yet so you go to the big name book store on your way home from work. That store does not have that book in stock but they can order it for you, assuring you that it should arrive with their next shipment in two weeks. Nope, that won’t work for you at all.
You head to the local branch of the library only to find it closed because of a lack of funding. The big box retail store does not carry that title at all because there is a suggestion of a naughty word in it. Logging onto the computer, you find several copies of the book in a number of different places, but the price that they are asking is a little steep for a book that you are honestly going to skim through just this one time. The solution that you need: free online library books.
But, you don’t have to way for a moment of quiet desperation to use free online library books- you can use this option for all your reading needs, whether it is for education, information or sheer entertainment. After all, who doesn’t like curling up with a good book on a stormy or cold winter’s night?
Once upon a time, books were only for the very wealthy for a number of reasons. Did you know that books were at one time copied by hand for royals and could take months to complete depending on the length of the book? Thankfully, once the ability to print multiple copies of books at a time allowed for more people to be able to have access them. But, the price of some books, especially first printings and very popular authors are still fairly high. For some families, free online library books feeds the book worm without breaking the family budget in the process.
Homes are much smaller than they have ever been- meaning that for most people, having stacks and stacks of favorite books around is not going to work any longer. Reading a book one time and then sliding it onto a shelf is not a viable option and makes far less sense these days. After all, why keep something around if you are not going to use it any longer? Reading free online library books keeps you from having stacks of books to trip over or try to find places for and it does not matter if you read them once or a hundred times- it doesn’t cost you anything at all.
Back to the book club: since it meets every single month, that means you will have to buy a new book, if you can find it, twelve times a year. Depending on where you buy the book, you can pay as much as forty dollars for it. Imagine that you hate it, then that money is wasted. Even if you love it, that money could have been better spent on something else. And, once you are finished with the book, what happens to it? If you try to resell it, you only get a portion of what you paid for it. If you donate it or give it away to a friend, you get nothing. If you had used free online library books, you wouldn’t be out a dime.
