The iPad is truly amazing! Apple can't keep up with the demand worldwide. I recently read a post of someone who travels by train from Long Island to New York City each day and he observed that on this one hour train ride, five out of ten people have an iPad that they use to either read a book or the keep up with the news (most were observed using it for this purpose) and some watching a video or enjoying a video game. Here are a few tips on how to use an iPad to get you started (Hey the Pope used it recently at 84... seriously... So if he can learn you can as well :) ).
How to use an iPad: Tip #1 - How to read a pdf file on my iPad:
Essentially there are two different ways I can do this:
1. The first option is for me to convert the pdf into a format called epub. What is epub? It is a format that is used for the ibook application. By converting to this format I will be able to read it on this app.
2. The other option is to buy something called the good reader app (it costs $0.99) or a reader developed for the iPad called "the pdf reader pro" (this one costs $3.99).
How to use an iPad: Tip #2 - How can I hide the keyboard that pops up on my screen?
There is a button towards the right at the bottom of the keyboard. Touch this button (it is the one that looks like the keyboard). This will hide your keyboard.
How to use an iPad: Tip #3 - How do I change the message that shows up at the bottom of my emails (signature)?
1. You want to go to 'settings' 2. Once you are at the settings screen, on the left you will see 'mail, calendar, contacts'. Tap this. 3. You will see 'signature'. Tap it. The signature you have been using will show up. All you need to do is tap on this in order to change your message that appears at the bottom of the emails you send.
How to use an iPad: Tip #4 - Can I do word processing and powerpoint on my iPad?
Yes. You bet. You will need to buy the iWork that is the version designed for the iPad. You will be able to have Pages, Numbers and Keynote on your iPad once you get this.
There is so much to learn on the iPad. You can master your iPad by spending a few minutes a day going through some quality training and learning all there is to learn on how to use an iPad.
