You know I've always wondered what the most popular websites were and would you know it out of nowhere last week I came across an article about the most popular websites around. It really got my attention because I'm always on the net and what have you. I saved the article and some how or another I lost it! As my niece would say "Dang"! Well guess what? I just found the article for real just a second ago I Googled it and there it was.

Now some of the most popular websites that are on the list areof no surprise even though the order my be have some a bit puzzled. I was happy to see the vast range of different types of companies in the fore front of the tech game. What I mean is that it's not just all social networking sites that are the most visited and that is exactly what I had thought prior to finding out the truth based on acturate reseach.(Quantcast)

The list of the 10 most popular websites consist of the biggest of the big the big dogs the crem de la crem the cream of the crop. What ever word you use to better say big thats who is on this list. The worlds largest search engine, web portal, video site, software company, social network, encycopedia, and e-commerce site round the list up.

These sites are really ranking in some dough to. Listen to this! Wikiipedia, which is on the list,is a non profit that runs on a budget of a few million dollars a year.and another,Google has revenue that will be well above $50 billion. Crazy!

Let me tell you the run down. Microsoft at the 10th most popular web site spot has a monthly audience of 61,981,128 and revenue of $69.9 billion. Microsoft is likely to be the worlds largest soft-ware company. At Microsoft web-sites you can buy and or download their products.

Wordpress comeing in at 9 with a monthly audience of 63,993,088 and revenue of $10 million. Wordpress is mostly used by bloggers were they are able to download certain software that can be use to create their own websites. I am very familiar with wordpress myself so it was not surpising to see the site on the list

Wikipedia is the 8th most popular site and it's revenue is at $20million. Wikipediais the work of the Wikimedia Foundation and what it is really a collection of encyclopedias.

MSN is the 7th most popular with an monthly audience of 78,095,128 and revenue of 2.5billion. MSN is one the the three largest Internet content portals sites, along with Yahoo!and Aol. What they do over there is display advertising.

Twitter is number 6 with an mohthly audience of 90,790,080 and revenue of $140 million.Twitter is described as a kind of blog and as a social network. There are about 300 million users and they all can post messages up to 140 characters at any time. It is like a blog because the tweets are available for large numbers of people to read and like a social network because it allows users to exchange details about what they are doing, what their interest are etc.

Yahoo is the 5th with an monthly audience of 94,840,280 and revenue of $5 billion.Yahoo!is an internet site that makes money from a combination of displays and search advertising.

Amazon is the 4th most popular site with a monthly audience of 99,374,352 and revenue of $48 billion. Amazon is the worlds largest e-commerce company.

Facebook was 3rd most popular site with an audience of 149,488,208 and revenue of $3.7 billion.

Youtube was the 2nd most popular site with an audience of 159,975,920 and revenue of $1.6 billion.

Google got the top spot no doubt with a hugh audience reaching 185,167.472 and revenue reaching$37.5 billion, yes $37.5 billion.

These sites which are the most popular sites are growing stronger and bigger and it seems like the only thing that could slow all these sites down would be their lack of going more mobile. PCs are becoming a thing of the past, the focus has be on mobile communications.
