Have you ever struggled with your Ipad case staying in position? Or wanted a solid typing angle for the increasing typing you are doing? Are you frustrated by the inability your case has to stand in a stable portrait orientation?
The Tuf-Luv Tri-Axis Stasis leather Ipad case is here. This case is made of quality tuff cow hide leather which provides excellent protection. This is not a wimpy thin covering of leather. The case closes with a wrap around leather strap that snaps to the back cover to secure the ipad when thrown into a backpack or briefcase.
What makes the Tuf-Luv case unique is its incredible stand design. No other leather ipad case stand compares to it. The stand offers 5 angles from 30 to 75 degrees in landscape and 2 more (a left and right) in portrait at 75 degrees. When the front of the case is place backwards on the table, it exposes five bumps. Those five are five positive velcro stops that the back cover's fold out flap adheres to when snaped into place.
The back cover flap is very sturdy. In fact, if you push the ipad with your finger while in the stand mode the stand is still found to be stable and secure. Even in the portrait mode the stand is very secure. When you tilt the Tuf-luv leather ipad case on end into portrait mode, it is stil fastened in the back. Not only is it fastened, but one can take the front cover's triangular bend and bend it backwards to form a stable 75 degree for portrait viewing. .
This case incorporates the sleep mode of the Ipad 2. That is what the word "Stasis" refers to in the name of the case. It also has all the cutouts needed to provide access to the buttons, ports, and camera.
I do have three minor concerns about this case. One is the bulk and weight of the case. The Tuf-luv leather ipad case is made of heavy leather, cow hide leather, not the soft supple leather of many cases. So do not expect a nice thin case that is light as a feather. This bulk is necessary to provide the protection and the features of the stand.
The second concern is the cost. This is not a "throw away case" that you use for three months and as it begins looking ratty and falling apart you replace it with another $20 or under case. This case will last and last. In fact, it has a limited life time warranty on the materials and worksmanship. This case is quality. Tuf-luv's Bi-Axis case was nominated for !3 on Ebookreaderguide and also nominated for the MacWorld award in 2010. So there is no doubt that Tuf-Luv makes quality cases that will not disappoint.
The final concern I have is the appearance of the case. Most of the leather ipad cases with multiple viewing angles have ridges on the interior of the front cover. Basically, Tuf-luv put those on the outside of the cover. Therefore, the front cover has these 5 bumps which looks strange. Imagine you are going to a business meeting with several other business men. They have their laptop/ ipad case out in front of them. Most of the cases are black folios. Then there is your case, black folio with bumps. Everyone is looking at it and wonder why the strange case. They may even think you are weird. Then you open the case and put it in portrait stand mode. Then they change their tune and think, "Wow, what a great case!" If you can live with the initial thoughts of people you will love this case.
My personal view is that the Tuf-luv Tri-axis stasis leather ipad case is an excellent case. It would be a lasting treasure to wrap your expensive Ipad 2 inside of. If you need a case with multiple viewing angles
