Unblock Websites on Mac!

Mac is certainly one of the most popular operating systems in the world right now, and their numbers are growing. There is no ONE single way to unblock sites on Mac. In fact, there are too many to list here. What I'm featuring here is how to unblock sites on Mac with a VPN connection.

And there are many types of VPN, tons of VPN services, and many versions of Mac. By the time you read this article, there will probably be more. I simply can't cover it all. Even if you took the same operating system and compared two different VPN services the setup process would be slightly different. Now consider that some users may wan to use PPTP, some use L2TP, and some OpenVPN - yeah, it's a lot to process.

So my suggestion is not to try to figure out how to install the VPN on your Mac. Choose a VPN service you like, choose a VPN protocol that suits your needs, and then follow the instructions provided to you.

VPN Services & Features

VPN services are accessible online. You don't need any extra hardware to get started on Mac. The features that will vary will be server location, bandwidth limitations, VPN protocols offered, device support, and guarantees.

It's pretty safe to say that most VPN services will offer unlimited bandwidth, unlimited server switching, and at least a 7 day money back guarantee. Along with this, there will most likely be VPN servers in The US and UK. Not all services do though. It's not a bad sign if they don't, but just be sure what your priorities are when looking for a VPN service.

If you're looking for a VPN server location outside The US and UK, you will have to look more closely. Some services cover most of Europe, and a few offer options in Asia, South America, Oceania, and even Africa.

VPN Protocols

The standard VPN connection is going to be PPTP. Though it's not very secure in the way of encryption, it's fast and lightweight, making it good for changing your IP, streaming restricted content, and unblocking websites on Mac. IF you're going for privacy, then L2TP or OpenVPN would be a better choice, with OpenVPN being the stronger candidate for data encryption and security. In fact, some VPN services offer encryption upgrades to 256-bit or higher, and NAT Firewalls.

These three will be offered at 99% of VPN services out there, so there's nothing to worry about. Most of the time, they're included in one package, but some services may require that you choose only one. Switching later is always an option.
