Watch Hulu In China

Like many other sites, you can't access Hulu in China. This however is not because of the government implemented blocks as in the case of other sites. This one is blocked in any country outside of the United States and its territories because of licensing agreements. There is a way that you can get around the block and that is through the use of the VPN. In fact, you can block American sites aside from Hulu using this method as well.

Finding the Right VPN Service Provider

In China, it is more difficult to find the right VPN service provider because there are so many sites that are blocked. You have to use the VPN however to stream American television online and to use any of these other blocked sites. The government is finding more sites to block including those that offer VPN services. There are still some of the best ones available however and you are encouraged to use them. The average cost is about $10 per month.

Installing the VPN

When you find the right service provider, you will need to pay the fee and then install the network. The instructions are listed on the website once you are ready to go. There are many times step-by-step instructions making it much easier to do even for the beginner.

Visiting Blocked Sites

Once you get an American IP address from the VPN, you can visit any of these blocked sites and use them as if you were located in the US. For Hulu in particular, it is a free site so you can browse through the catalogue without anything else. This is unless you want to use the paid service. If you want to watch Hulu in China but you want the paid service, the charge is about $8 per month. You can choose to pay through PayPal, American credit cards or gift subscription certificates.

You can watch American television whenever you want to as long as you use the US IP. In the case that you want to watch Netflix online when you get a US IP address, you can do that as well. The main difference is that this is a paid service and you need an appropriate method of payment to be successful.

Potential Problems VPN Use

There is a potential problem that may arise with the use of a VPN. Although these networks prevent you from dealing with local throttling, there is the chance that it might slow down your internet connection. This is generally the case if you have a slow connection already or if you use OpenVPN. However, you can solve this by disconnecting the VPN after you start to stream.
