I hear this question all of the time "what is the best laptop for me". I have worked as a salesman with electrical goods for over 5 years now and am genuinely astonished at the amount of people that ask this question. Laptops have been around for decades now. They are a handy, portable and ergonomic version of the desktop PC. Sales of which have escalated hugely over the past 5 years due to the technology involved getting increasingly cheaper. This has benefited mass populations in more welthier countries. Even the rage and uses for laptops as dramatically increased giving a wide variety for nearly everybodys needs. Yet the more choise people get the more confusion there is to find one for their specific needs. This short article should give you a general idea of what to look for to suit you.
To date there are a mass of different ranges, sizes, specification and styles out there on the market. This also means there is alot of different prices. These prices can vary from $150 to $2000+. Obiousily, the cheaper laptops are smaller and have a lower specification. The more expensive laptops will tend to be larger and incoroperate morefunctions and a higher specification. These can vary from touch screen tablets, 3D vision screens, High speed and powerful processors, long lasting batteries and I could go on forever. What matters is that no matter what your needs, purporses and wants are there will be a laptop out their to suit you.
The majority of people that were asking this question were looking to get a laptop mainly for using the internet. They were under the asumption that the better the specification the quicker the internet will respond and download etc. This is simply not the case. The only thing that will affect how quick your internet is, is your home broadband speed (How many Mb you pay for a month) and your connection to your router (how far away and how many laptops in use). There are also external factors like how busy a particular site is but these things cannot be helped. All you need to know is that even the cheapest of laptops will run perfectly well on the internet assumng it has no viruses. Alot of people tend to go for the netbook (a smaller laptop usually 10") as its main function is browsing the web. They also tend to be the cheapest, due to size and specification. They are also the most light weight and therefore the most portable. The same information applies for people wanting a laptop for use at school of college. However a larger notebook (14"+) is more suitable as the keyboard is alot larger and easier to use. Programs like microsoft office needs the most minimum of specifications so the cheaper laptops will do just fine. The specs you will find on the cheaper laptops are usually 1-2GB Ram, 160-250Gb Harddrive and 1.8-2GHz processor. This may mean nothing to you but it is a guideline on what to look for.
The mid range laptops are mainly used for work, businesses and people that want to run multiple progammes at once. This is because their higher specifications allow them to take on more work and not slow up. Mid range laptops will cost around $300-$600. It is the higher RAM and more powerful processors that allow them to operate faster. People that also want to play most games like the Sims will often need a slightly better laptop as they offer a more advanced graphics card to prevent glitching and delays. They also tend to have a screen size of around 15"-17" witch can be advantageous and more appealing for gamers. A typical spec for a mid range laptop is 3-4Gb RAM, 320-500Gb Harddrive and a intel i3-i5 processor.
