After a breakup, it can feel like the world's coming to an end. You might feel like life is too difficult without your ex, and that you absolutely need to get him back.
Unfortunately, because of the way that traumatic splits can end up affecting people mentally, the time when you most need your ex is precisely when you're least equipped to try to win him back.
So, if you feel that you need to get him back, step back, take a breather, and follow these steps:
1) Be patient.
You want your ex back as soon as possible, and that's totally understandable. Unfortunately, it probably isn't feasible just yet.
You need some time to heal from the breakup, and so does he. Give the two of you some space, and take a few days to recover.
2) Take a look at the two of you.
This will help you determine if you really, honestly need to get him back, or if it's just your emotions talking. If you still want him back more than anything, consider what kind of person you were when the two of you met.
What about you originally attracted him to you? Are you still like that? If you've changed, now is a good time to consider getting back into some of your old interests.
3) Be clear about what you want.
Take a look at where you want your relationship to go. If you succeed at getting him back, then what? It's at this point where it's important to forgive your ex for the breakup.
You might still be hurting, but remaining resentful doesn't help either of you. You can't begin a healthy, happy second phase to your relationship if you're still holding on to anger.
4) Get yourself back, first.
If you need to get him back, the first thing you need to do is work on yourself. This isn't the same as trying to transform yourself into the kind of woman you think your ex wants-- it means making a small change, any change, to yourself or your lifestyle.
Changing your look slightly can help you feel sexier and more confident, as well as put you back in control of yourself and your life. As an added bonus, a noticeable change in you will intrigue your ex, and entice him to want to know more about the “new you!”
5) Be friendly and positive.
At this point, the last thing you want to do is to make sure that all your hard work doesn't go to waste. You haven't been talking to your ex for all this time, so, when you finally do, do it right.
Stay friendly, happy, and casual, and avoid going into topics you know are going to dredge up memories and feelings from your breakup.
Chances are he won't have a guide like this one to help him get over his feelings, so he'll be left wondering how you're able to be so happy without him already... and that's going to make him want to be around you more.
You need to get him back, and you know he still loves you. With these easy steps, you'll be able to bounce back from your breakup stronger, happier, and more resilient than ever, and you'll have your ex eating out of the palm of your hand.
