If you are hurting after a recent break up and you’re looking for ways to getting back with your ex boyfriend, then listen up. Usually after an undesired break up people react in all the wrong ways because they let themselves be governed by negative emotions. Because of that, most people are tempted to do the wrong things in order to get their ex back. If you want to know how to stop pushing your ex away here are 5 common mistakes that you need to avoid:

1. Don’t try to stop him.

Although it goes against every fiber of your being, you must accept his decision of breaking up. By doing so you will open up a more communicative way of getting back with your ex boyfriend without the yelling and the trying to convince him.

2. Don’t harass him with calls and emails.

You might feel that by calling him over and over again things will get back to how they used to be between the two of you. In actuality, calling him a lot will only drive him away from you.

3. Don’t use the “pity tactic.”

It is surprising how many women think that by letting their ex know how devastated they are that it will make him feel sorry for them and it create this desire to fix whatever happened. The reality is no guy will ever fall in love with a girl out of pity, so you need to abandon that way of thinking. Sounds harsh, but it’s very true.

4. Don’t act too friendly.

The “nice girl tactic” might buy you some time but in the end your ex will only feel that you are too obvious and think that breaking up was a good decision. Instead of doing that, always be yourself. Trust me, you look much more attractive if you stay genuine. Isn’t that the reason he fell in love with you in the first place?

5. Don’t act out of jealousy and hurt.

Naturally your emotions would be out of control and because of that you might say and do things. Things like calling your ex “useless,” or threatening him will not go down well. By doing so you will only damage your relationship further and beyond repair. Instead concentrate all your efforts to learning how to control those negative emotions and turn them into positive ones that can help you in getting back with your ex boyfriend.

If you feel you already made some of these mistakes, don’t panic! There’s still hope. What you need to do is to stop all contact with your ex, at least for a little while. As contradictory as it might sound, this will give your ex time to realize what you meant to him and also it will prevent you from making any more mistakes. This will also give your ex the impression that you moved on, and in turn, he’ll probably contact you. This way, the chances of getting back with your ex boyfriend will increase dramatically.

Remember, time heals all. So don’t beat yourself up. Stay positive and keep on smiling. Stay persistent and you'll achieve anything.
