My Life As A Gamer, And My Experience With the Xbox 360 Console

In my youth i wasn't much of a video gamer, actually i wasn't even aware that such form of entertainment existed (growing up in a bad neighbourhood in a 3rd world country, without a TV or a radio does that to some people), so unlike most grown up gamers out there in the world were they have beautiful, nostalgic memories of staying up, late at night, playing their Atari's, Nintendo's and Genesis's, close to the TV screen, my own memories are void of gaming, instead i used to work. But, i disgress, enough about my past (due to the fact that i might get melodramatic, which is a 'no no'), my point is that it's never to late to become a gamer, to make gaming a good, healthy hobby for you to enjoy.

I started getting into gaming around 2006 wen i was.. fixing my life, so to speak, and my first games were on my personal computer that i still have to this day. And, God, did i enjoy playing some of these games, (which.. i wont mention because i might just ramble on about them endlessly) so much so that i wanted to start catching up on everything that i missed. So ofcourse, i made a plan, that i chose to follow with patience as far as my income would allow me.

I started buying consoles from previous generations, the 4th generation and the 5th generation, started building a solid collection of games for each of them (at least 20 to 30 games), and then finally reassesed my time schedule for a little slice of heavenly free time for me to enjoy.. God knows that eventually i completely messed up my then-in-order time schedule, and i was playing games for hours on end each day, which almost cost me my job and my social life. To be honest, i don't feel proud for letting my self go like that, but i don't exactly regret it either. I now know, what a incredible, beautiful and absolutely memorable experience gaming can be for a person, and i realise that might sound lame for some people, but really now, the amount of variety, creativity and passion pumped in some of these games are a wonder to behold.

Now, on the subject of these games, why didn't i just stick to one console and my trust worthy PC (that i could just upgrade over time)? I mean, that way i could have saved some hard earned money and maybe, just maybe wouldn't have gotten my self in this obssession (which today doesn't exist, thankfully) that ate most of my free time.. The answer to that are exclusive games, every console has its share of first party titles that are unique and some being a system seller, i couldn't resist. I needed to play them, to experience them, to not feel that i'm missing on something big, so, ofcourse i would want to have most of what i could afford. A wile ago, i picked up a Xbox 360 and about ten games to go with it (i can't seem to remember wen exactly, but you all know how time flies, it's like it was yesterday.. heh), just to see what the big fuss was all about, and to play some of these exclusive titles that system has. Thankfully, i loved its share of games.. i enjoyed them tremendously, and would have replayed them a few times..

But, i believe it was.. a week, or two, after my grand purchase, i don't rember exactly, a problem struck, and boy was it a problem, at least from my point of view. I wont go into the details because i can sum it up in four words. Red Ring of Death, which i had no idea why it happened (why didn't my console work, and what did those three red flashes of light mean?) and you can bet i was pretty frustrated, since none of my other older systems failed (my Genesis still works like a charm, love this baby of a system). Eh, but i was exagerating at the time, afterall, i had a warranty. No problems, right? Yeah.. i wish i wouldn't have had any problems, but it happened. Again. This time, i was really loosing it. I guess i might be a little to sensitive from time to time, but that's the way i am.

Good thing i had the internet (God bless the Internet), because trough extensive searches i found something i really didn't think i would find. A way to fix that.. pain in the neck of a problem i had with my 360, a small guide with little effort required, no technical knowledge required (i sure as heck didn't have any at the time), and a couple of tools around the house. After reading some more information, like any human being with some responsability would do, i decided to go for it, what's there to loose, right? I've had enough.. So i went for it. To my surprise, i didn't regret what i did, in fact, i did it. I solved it, my Xbox 360 was working again, i couldn't believe it, it was so easy that i now regret not being just a little tech savvy back then. No problems with my console since then, afterall, if a problem struck, i would fix it my self, with barely any hassle. And that, is why i'm recommending it to anyone that has any problems with their 360, because it really does work, and you don't have to take my word for it.

I wouldn't, and i know you wouldn't either. I'm just a random stranger, afterall. You can read up on it, inform yourself properly about this guide, and maybe give it a go. There's a life saying - "No risk, no win." , and that's why, back then, maybe because i was a little mad, i just went with the flow, risked (though i wouldn't call it a risk), and thankfully, i won.

Being a gamer can be a expensive hobby, and a damn addictive one at that, but with a good mentality which can shape up as time goes by, patience, and a little effort, being a gamer can, and will be a bliss. You're in control here, and wen problems appear in my gaming life, i sure as heck go trough them like a knife trough butter, keeping focused on the solution and not on the problem itself.

That's how you fix stuff, well that's how i fix stuff at least. Whether that stuff revolves around your daily life, or your hobby, there's nothing that you can't fix. The sky is the limit, as they say, and that's not just a empty saying i'm throwing here for the sake of it.

And i have to give my thanks to someone who gave me a little bit. of info a few minutes ago, that i'm going to keep in my mind from now on. Have a good one,

Luc.
