Revolution Of Motion Gaming
Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

Everyday the world of gaming is becoming a more active hobby. It all started with the Wii console, You have to give Nintendo credit where credit is due. Nintendo revolutionized the industry with the very first concept of motion gaming, preceding Sony's Playstation Move, and Microsoft's Xbox Kinect. But here's the question: If you don't already own a motion sensing console or accessory, which is it that you would be more likely to go with? I may just be able to help you with the answer to that question in this article.

First, lets take a look at the Nintendo Wii. The Wii was first introduced into the public to break the ice in the motion gaming revolution in November of 2006. Introduced with its wireless controllers and attachable "NumChucks" and boo-koo's of "Gaming Feel" steering wheels, tennis rackets, etc. the Wii was first named the "Nintendo Revolution" then later changed to Wii prior to release. The console was a marvel to Young and old audiences alike. But let's get straight to the point, the pro's, the con's, and is this console right for you?

Let's start with the pro's. Don't let those old Gamecube games go to waste Nintendo fans, the Wii is totally backwards compatible! It also has four ports to connect your old GC remotes and even a couple of ports for your GC memory cards. And while we're on the subject of ports, it also has a SD card slot for viewing photos and as an additional memory source. Inlike most other systems, The Wii runs very quiet and very cool. so no need for those noisy intercoolers that you can buy for the PS3 or XBOX Systems.

Now for the Wii Cons. If you're a fan of console memory, then this system isn't for you. the internal memory is a wimpy 512mb. but keep in mind, there is still a slot for some extra with an SD card. second, today in age, most audiences are after the full high definition experience, the Wii has basically an Identical graphics card to that of Sony's Playstation 2 console. So don't expect to see any jaw dropping graphics, cell shading, or any of the graphic terminologies that give credibility to the other top consoles of today.

Now let's take a look at the Playstation Move. Again, We'll start with the pro's. The remotes (after getting used to them) have far greater precision than that of the Kinect or Wii console. The bundled packages are pretty fair pricewise. that's about all I can praise the move for. As for the cons, My only gripe is that you have to re calibrate the controller(s) in most games on startup.

Last but not least, the Kinect. The pro's for the Kinect is that the controller is.....well...YOU. that's right, no controllers, all it takes is a kinect sensor and your body to make it work. A few problems that absolutely irritated me about the Kinect though is that while you are jumping around playing your active game, the sensor will almost always lose you every few minutes, causing you to have to get back to the "Sweet Spot" in the sensor's veiw to allow the system to re-recognize you.

So that's it. Which Console is Best for you?
