Many people tend to state that in order to live and eat in a healthier way you need to refuse using flour products. But is it really the case? After all, every type of ingredient has a better healthier option and if we choose that option through all eating ingredients we use, the results will already be incredible. This article include tips how people can choose a healthier option while still using flour in their lives.
Let´s start discussing refined wheat flour, which is the most common flour that people use. Refined wheat flour has a very high Glycemix index (GI). This index indicates how rapidly carbohydrates raise our blood glucose level. Moreover, high glucose level jump often continues with fast “landing”, which results in fast food cravings and desire for sweets, as your body is signaling and asking for more raise of glucose. Run from products with high GI as far as you can. It means that this most commonly used flour will just make you hungry. It is just a non ending hungry circle. So the only true thing you need to refuse is this kind of flour. Let´s overlook the most common products from this flour:
1. Bread. Avoid using white bread. Choose black/brown bread with seeds.
2. Pancakes. It is probably one of the most common meals being baked from tis type of flour. Use buckwheat, wholegrain flour.
3. Pasta. Go only for wholegrain version. Wholegrain flour contains a lot of fiber, necessary for organism. Fiber makes you feel full fast too, so your portion will be smaller too.
4. Eat only natural cereal poridges.

Wholegrain flour.
It is another wheat flour source. The difference is that the whole grain is grinned, while in refined wheat flour the shell is removed. This changed a lot of things, as this flour contains a lot of fiber, vitamins and biologically active compounds.
Corn flour.
Corn wheart isn´t a good option, though most people tend to believe so. Corn has a huge amount of carbohydrates , but no value for your organism, because it does not contain minerals or vitamins that are the necessity for your organism growth and functions. Corn is widely used for everything , due to it´s cheap price, so people tend to believe it is a very good product. We suggest to avoid corn usage.
Buckwheat flour.
One of the best healthy alternatives! It does not contain any gluten!. However, this flour does not have “sticking” properties, which means that a meal need to contains another type of flour or ingredient that can “stick” everything together.
Spelta flour.
It is quite a popular alternative for refined wheat flour. Well, actually it is wheat flour, just coming from wild wheats. Though, scientists discovered that spelta is less allergic than refined wheat flour. It also includes a lot of vitamins, because it accumulated in all part of spelta, this is the reason why refined process does not loose spelta´s good properties to organism.
Rice flour.
This type of flour contains a lot of proteins, fiber and starch, including magnesium, calcium and potassium with B groub vitamins. It is easy to digest as it is gluten free flour.
