Easter Cake Pops - How to Decorate Your Cake Pops

Hello again! Since we showed you how to make cake pops in our last article, it’s now time to have some fun and decorate our Easter Cake Pops! This is where you get to use your imagination and creativity.

The most popular designs for Easter Cake Pops are the Easter egg, the Easter chick and the Easter bunny. The photo I have is from the famous Bakerella.

The simplest one is the Easter chick cake pop, it’s just a case of adding the candy pieces in the appropriate spots and using your edible marker pen to add some eyes. But hey, you can always use candy for the eyes as well!

The slightly harder decoration is the Easter egg cake pop. This is a little more time consuming and “fiddly”. But if you show patience and a steady hand you will be fine. Just tell your kids to “back off” for a few minutes…or better still, challenge them to see who can produce the best looking “egg”. It’s always great to get your children involved!

The hardest of the three designs for cake pops is the Easter bunny cake pop but again a little patience and manual dexterity and the end result will be fine.

One of the main keys to getting your melted candy to stick to the cake pop and when using it to attach the candy for decoration, is to ensure your melts stay liquid by keeping it warm.

Now if you find some of these designs are too difficult, don’t let that stop you. I’m sure you can come up with your own designs. Even ask your children, you know they think differently to adults, who knows what they will think off??

Just remember, if this is your first time decorating cake pops, you WILL get better at it! Nothing that you do the first time is perfect.

So maybe it’s a good idea to do a trial run (or two) before Easter and try making some Easter chick cake pops!. Can I see your kids looking over your shoulder nodding, yes please, can we try making some now?? They may not come out exactly how you expect your Easter cake pops to look, but it will not change how they taste. Your children will attest to that.

I really hope you enjoy making your easter cake pops because that is what it should be about. The added bonus of course is the delectable taste you and your family will enjoy when you devour them!
