Paleo Diet Food List Pt2

As promised, here is the continuation of the Paleo diet food list. In my last article I gave you some list of foods that you can eat. Let me tell you, when it come to the fruits and veggies you can eat as much as you want. I would portion the meats and nuts though. The foods we will talk about today will be the foods you can have in moderation and the foods you want to avoid all together.

Let's start with foods you eat in moderation. Oils are the first category. Now if your doing this diet for weight loss purposes, you really want to limit the intake of oils to 4 tblsp or less a day. Now I like cooking with a small amount of oil even though you can find many alternatives. Back off on the nut intake as well because you will essentially be getting a more concentrated form of the nuts. Again, this is if you are trying to diet. The oils I would suggest are Canola, Walnut, Avocado, Flaxseed, and Olive.

Beverages are next on the paleo diet food list. I will go on in saying that water is by far the best thing you can drink. If you must drink other beverages than water than there are some guidelines. Coffee and Tea with nothing added is cool. No cream and sugar. Soda, stick to diet, but still not great for you. Some of those artificial sweeteners can be harmful for you. Wine, beer, and spirits aren't really worth it. 1 12oz beer, 8oz of wine, and 4 oz of spirits is all you get a day. Your just teazing yourself.

On the paleo diet food list your sweets are pretty limited. Stick to dried fruits at 2oz a day and you can add you portion of nuts to that if you want, but just 4 oz of that. Again, these portion are more for people who are dieting.

There is quite a long list of foods to avoid. Cereal Grains such as millet, barley, corn, oats, rice, wheat, and rye are some of them. Stay away from their processed forms as well. Dairy, this was a hard one for me. I love cheese. Any thing that is processed with dairy products is out: cheese, ice cream, yogurt, and butter are a few of the big ones. There are many alternatives like almond milk and yogurts. Check out you local grocery to see what they carry. If your having trouble finding alternatives to your paleo diet food list you may need to find a specialty market.

Legumes are next on the list. They consist of beans, peanuts and peanut butter, miso, lentils, peas, soy beans and everything that comes from them and that means tofu. Stay away from the starchy vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, and yams. Sweets, no candy honey or sugar. No soft drinks or any kind of fruit juices. Your pretty much getting all the sugar from the fruits.

The last two categories on the paleo diet food list are fatty meats and salt made foods. I think these are pretty self explanatory, but I will give a few examples. Condiments, Smoked meats, cured meats, brined foods (olives, pickles), skin of poultry, sausages (pork), and bacon are big no no's on the diet.

I hope this article has been helpful to you and I will be posting more info soon!

Thank You!
