It might just hit you one day.
You're sitting in the office, playing with he kids, or driving down the highway and the though casually passes through your mind.
"I wonder if I should get breast augmentation surgery"
The problem is, this isn't just any casual thought because it keeps seeping into your brain from out of nowhere and won't go away. Maybe you've been having these thoughts for years and wonder if going through with it will be worth the time and resources.
It's perfectly fine. Regardless, if you're thinking about getting breast augmentation, then it's probably an exciting time. After all, it will probably result in larger breasts which, let's face it, is a good thing for everyone. However, before following through with the procedure, you should know that breast augmentation is a surgery, and like every other surgery there's going to be a period afterwords of recovery.
Recovery from breast augmentation isn't at all a long and brutal process, but it most definitely is a process and knowing what to expect and how to prepare can make the period a little easier.
Side Effects
The side effects following breast augmentation surgery aren't unbearable but they aren't nonexistent either. You will likely see some swelling and busing for about two weeks following the procedure, and probably some numbness in the area within the first week as well. In some case, there may be bouts of discomfort or pain but your doctor will prescribe pain medication that you should take as directed.
Time
The vast majority of women are able to return to work a week after the surgery, however it isn't a bad thing if you want to schedule some extra time to recover (after all, who wants to go back to work?) If you're job requires heavy lifting, then it's advisable to wait a least a month before heading back. Also, if you exercise regularly, wait at least a week before starting up your routine again, but remember, stay away from heavy lifting for a month at the least to give the chest area time to fully heal.
Look
Your breasts will look larger after the breast augmentation surgery but note that some of this is largely due to swelling. It will take a bit of time for the final result to appear. During this time you're breasts will sit real high on your chest, they probably not look as natural as you want them to and they'll probably feel real firm, but don't fret, this will only last about a month before these effects go away and they appear more natural and give of that look most women want.
Comfort
I know you probably don't want to hear it, but your doctor will more than likely advise you to avoid sleeping on your stomach for about two weeks after the surgery. This can be a tough command to follow because one, you already like to sleep on your stomach as it is and two, the discomfort will have your chest screaming for you to sleep on it. Make sure you keep those ice packs and pain pills handy. In fact, having an area set up in your home that's specially reserved for you take a few pain pills, apply an ice pack or two, and watch TV can make the recovery process a whole lot easier.
Selecting a Physician
As with a lot of medical procedures, choosing the right physician can have a profound effect on the entire process. There's nothing wrong with doing a bit of research on doctors in your area before delving right into the surgery.
Above all, remember to take it easy. Breast enhancement surgery and recovery are no worse than any other, and after it's all over with, you'll be incredibly happy with your new body.
