What Can You Do With Gift Tissue Paper In Your Home?

You may have at one point or another received gifts with beautiful gift tissue paper presented as part of the gift. Instead of burying them under heaps of unwanted paper trash boxes, why not consider recycle them to give them a new lease of life and create something of value and fun by reusing them in your gift wrap endeavors? Here are some ideas which you may think about to utilize better the gift tissue paper that you already have.

Gather whatever you can find bits and pieces of gift tissue paper that you may have at home. Observe the colors that you have come across for these papers, and decide how you can transform them from trash to something that is useful and pleasing to look at.

If you have been wrapping gifts with cheap Kraft wrapping papers, you can upgrade its image and look by wrapping an ombre tissue paper fringe around the box. By ombre, it refers to the graduation of color in a garment. Using that concept in garment, we can apply it on our gifts. Let’s say you have selected pink as your main color. Use that to create a range of shades of pink from light to dark. Wrap each piece of the color around the box, and trim on the fringe of the gift tissue paper until it forms a perimeter around the box. For that matter, if your do not have complementary color tones of pink, you can consider mix and match 2 colors to create a contrasting color tones such as using yellow and orange.

Get a “left-over” gift tissue paper, with a dimension of at least the size of an A3 paper. Use this to create a tissue paper flower topper to be placed on top of your gift. For instance, if the paper you have got is purple or any other color depending on what you can find, take that and follow these steps:

  1. Gather 4 pieces of wrapping paper of similar dimension sizes and pair of scissors
  2. Pick apart 2 layers of 2, fold it into 2 halves, and repeat folding into 2 further halves
  3. Divide the fold again in half for the 3rd time
  4. Repeat folding for the 4th time
  5. Fold the two set of papers into triangles on one end each
  6. Draw a petal shape with a marker with the fold acting as the center
  7. Cut the stacks and check by viewing the four petal stacks
  8. Now, open and arrange each tissue paper layer by rotating them
  9. Repeat the same thing with the other petal stack
  10. Get petals into a cone and secure the center of the bottom by stapling it
  11. Ensure each petal outwards by fluffing
  12. Attach by sticking the whole paper flower onto your gift

Another way to utilize remainder of your gift tissue paper is to cut or shred (especially those less than attractive types) and use them as fillers for your gift box. When you have a small sized gift and have a bigger gift box packaging, you can make use of this approach. Put a quantity of the shredded tissue paper enough to fill up the half of the box and place your gift into the box. Yet another approach is to hold and wave the central portion of the gift tissue paper. This will result in a better decorative look. Still holding the center, place the paper into a gift bag with the other portion sticking out of the bag. Fluff it up such that the corners of paper are visibly seen from outside the bag.

As you may have realized, there are no hard and fast rule when comes to recycling your used gift tissue papers at home. If you can spend some time thinking creatively how these papers can be reused, you will be surprised at how much you can fully tap on to come up with different unique and interesting ideas.
