Electrical Remodel Project: My Old Ranch House & My Old Brain, Part 2

After thirty years of working hard for the almighty dollar, times began to change. I wasn't excited as I once was about going to work each day.

The economy and technology had evolved into something I was not prepared for.

New devices such as cell phones, computers, laptops, and the vast sea of the internet began to overload my circuitry. New terminology and words began to cause the old wiring harness of my brain to heat up. It was time for a mental upgrade!

New neural pathways were needed as a whole new world of the internet opened to view! It became obvious to me that studying facts and regurgitating them would do me no good here. It was time to become creative in new ways. My mental remodeling project was underway.

I would need a good mental remodeling project plan! Let's see where should I start? Oh yes, I remember what is needed first. I need to remove the old wiring and electrical panels. Studying hard to get good grades so that I could land a good job would not work in this new world.

The past few months have brought new areas of study. These include subjects like website development, blogs, affiliate marketing, writing articles and many more new subjects that continue to appear as my mind remodeling project continues to progress.

My brain would need to function in a totally different way than it ever had before. Let's look at the simple task of writing for a great example of how my new mental wiring is much different than the old.

Writing has became a passion instead of drudgery. The goals of writing changed from getting good grades to creating articles that could engage the mind, heart and soul of the reader. I knew I couldn't just repeat facts and figures to engage people. I needed to be much more creative than that!

What is the end result of this engagement? What is my purpose in writing down some thoughts and ideas of this old cowboy?

When I began this mind remodeling project, money was first and foremost on my mind.

I wanted to get rich quick using the almighty internet to do it! I did my due diligence though. I studied the facts and figures. I began to read and study to find out what it would take to make my dream come true. I learned many things during those weeks of studying.

To find out the rest of the story, be sure to check out Electrical Remodel Project, Part 3! I guess this ole cowboy had lots of thoughts about remodeling! I hope you will be pleasantly surprised with what I found.

You are hitting on a very important paradigm. Our world has changed. We are being forced into "re-wiring" our circuitry. I'm feeling it too. In order to make a living today, one has to embrace technology and all the changes. It's wonderful when it also leads to discovering latent talents, such as writing. Happy writing my cowboy friend!

I remember an article I read when I first came to Street Articles back a little over a month ago. It was about a paradigm shift. That was a great history lesson from the 1800's through the present day and how it would affect us all. You hope to co-create a better world happens as we connect in the ways we do on the internet. It seems strange to say, but it is possible to have internet friends! I never would have guessed it! Actually the term, cyber friend, rolls off the tongue better! LOL Thanks for another great insight and for an awesome article that had me coming back for more here at Street Articles!

Thanks McK. Have two more on the burner at the moment. I share your enthusiasm for cyber friends, especially fellow members of Wealthy Affiliate and writers on Street Articles. Oftentimes they are one in the same people. Rob always said he'd like to have a cocktail party in which we were all present. Maria will do the food. And yes, I will too.
