Are you still with me? I sure hope I make it worth your while as I unveil what I found as I remodeled this ole cowboy's way of thinking.
The first and most important thing I learned was that I wasn't going to get rich quick! It would take much effort and time to become successful. The second thing I learned was that if their was any money at all to made on the internet, I needed to develop relationships with people. I needed to learn how to make friends on the internet.
This would require things that I have never done before. Writing has now taken on a whole new purpose for me. I am beginning to see that sharing my thoughts and ideas is a great way to connect with people. I have done more reading in the past few months than I have in the past thirty years of work.
Much of the reading I have done has been right here on Street Articles. I have learned a great deal about many authors here. You know who you are! I leave my comments on the articles that I read. In fact, you know when I have read your article, because if I am going to take the time to read your article, I figure it only takes a moment to connect with you through the comments I leave.
I hope you find it as thrilling as I do when I read your comments about this ole cowboys thoughts, opinions and ideas. This new phenomenon has my new mental wiring and service panels bursting with energy.
I never thought that writing could be so rewarding, and I don't mean the all mighty dollar rewards, either. Connecting with people through writing has this ole cowboy fired up and excited about life again.
Ok, now it's time to compare the two remodel projects. Do you remember what the problems were with the old electrical wiring in our ranch house? Oh yeah, the lights going dim because of circuit overloads and the danger of the house burning down.
I want you to know something. The same can be said of this new internet world and being able to survive in it. If you use the same old mental thought processes that are successful in getting good grades, then you will probably end up blowing mental fuses or even worse, you could end up burning down your whole mental electrical structure!
My ole brain remodel project is far from being completed. I will be sure to keep my Street Article friends up to date as to new developments along the way.
As always, just some thoughts of this ole cowboy.
And you are still top dog, though! You have some great articles yourself, my man! I am still learning how this all works! I am back on at WA, so it's time to do some website building! We will see where that goes! Oh, and I am doing even more writing on the book titled "Thoughts of an Ole Cowboy" It's a work in progress, and it's beginning to have a faint heartbeat! LOL
I used to write outdoor articles for a hardcopy newspaper and have been published in Ontario Out of Door magazine (blow horn now..:) and it was a great feeling to know my writing was being enjoyed...that was some time ago now, how tiime passes, taking on my new career in IM and a making use of SA has given me that feelilng again....and it is a good feeling....maybe it is rewarding to know there are many others out there that share the same wants and concerns as I do, as we do....Look forward to many more McK.....this way we grow together...we all win...
You betcha, Tim! It has been great fun. Toot that horn loud! LOL That sounds like it was a sweet gig to write for a magazine! Thanks for reading along and sharing! As for this ole cowboy, I plan to sit in this saddle and enjoy the ride for as long as I can!
Looking forward to reading more about the process you are undergoing. It is exciting. I also love to read people's comments. Most of the articles are very personal and enlightening. The more I learn about others, the more I realize we are all the same in essential ways.
My cowboy hat is off to you, Joan! I look forward to seeing your picture in the comment section, because I know I will find some great insights. I think what you said about the articles being personal and enlightening is what get this ole cowboy fired up! I haven't ever experienced this before. I am beginning to see why there are so many authors out there! It really is a blast!
