However, you can take advantage from reading if you read selective books according to your English and mental level. You can increase the difficulty level gradually. Logically, this is an ongoing and continuous process. During reading, you should spare sometime for writing. Try to conceptualize the ideas of the writer, use his/her words, phrases, and try to copy the text in your own words.

How to choose books for reading

If you understand your subject of study, you should choose books according to it. On one hand, it would improve your skills of reading; on the other hand, it would prepare you for the exams.

Fear of writing

According to psychologists, writers, specifically, beginner writers have a fear. They fear to pen down their thoughts on the paper. Nevertheless, this is a fatal error because without writing, you cannot understand your shortcomings. You should write whatever comes in your mind after reading.

If you are able to write one paragraph then you are able to do next and the whole. Even if your writing is nothing more than a jumble of uninterrupted ideas, you should write.

The next step that would you learn soon is editing your own writing stuff. However, initially, you can get help someone more experienced. Your mentor could be your instructor, teacher or professor. You can also get help from your parents if they are able to guide you in this regard.
