Wonder what they say I was
If I did not start off this way.
They say I was something invisible,
Light enough to be blown by the wind.
Wonder how I managed
To become what I am today.
Wonder what I was
That I turned out so beautiful.
Was I a pretty whale in the ocean?
Was I a rose flower a beloved kept?
Was I lioness that grew into a princess?
Was I a young lion that grew into a prince?
Wonder how I managed
To become what I am today.
Wonder what I was
That I turned out mean and vengeful.
Was I a shark that couldn’t stand blood?
Was I a thorn in the flesh?
Was I a snake that couldn’t forgive?
Was I a scorpion that always wants to offend?
Wonder how I managed
To become what I am today.
Wonder what I was
To be loved by so many.
Was I a mermaid in the ocean?
Was I a sunflower that glowed in the sun?
Was I man’s best friend?
Was I a horse they loved to ride?
Wonder how I managed
To become what I am today.
Wonder if the journey ends here.
I hope it doesn’t.
Will I turn into something else?
Or grow old and wither away.
Do I have a choice what I turn into?
I wish I do, I wish I do have a choice.
Wonder what I would like to be,
What would I be?
Wish I could turn into a pool of water
On a hot summer day,
A rose flower that a beloved will kiss,
A lion and lead a pride.
Wish I could turn into air
That is needed by all races,
Something colorless,
Picasso that would be cherished,
Wish I could turn into love, love agape.
Wonder what you would wish to be.
Would you be my flower if I turn a plant?
Would you be my wings if a turn a bird?
Would you be my legs if I turned a horse?
Would you carry me far away from man?
Would you make my wishes your commands?
Wonder what I was
If I did not start off this way.
Wonder if the journey ends here.
I hope not, wish I could turn again.
Am I going to end here?
Or this is just part of the cycle.
The ever changing cycle,
That never ends.
Wonder what I will wake up as.
Will I wake up still a man?
Will I wake up feeling different?
What I was I know not,
And what I will be is a mystery.
Will I just die and turn into
The worms the rotten turns into?
