If you've never owned a credit card, you are unlikely to have a credit history. Applying for credit cards with no credit history can sometimes be as hard as applying for them with with a bad credit history. It is often the case that credit card providers turn people down when they apply for credit cards with no credit history because they don't have a clear idea of the type of customer you might be. So how can you get around this? The best thing to do is take some steps to show the card providers that you will be a reliable customer.

First and foremost, it's really important that you get yourself on the Electoral Role. By doing this, you are giving the card providers an easy way of checking that you are who you say you are. On top of that, it shows that you are unlikely to be moving around all over the place and are living at one fixed address. This will be a great help when you apply for credit cards with no credit history and is a very simple step.

The next thing to do is, if you have a mobile phone contract, a loan or any other financial agreement, make sure you pay regularly and on time. Never default on a payment. When card providers look into applications for credit cards with no credit history, they will want to see how you have managed your finances in the past. If you are applying for credit cards with no credit history, they can only look at other areas, including mobile phone contracts and other financial arrangements.

Finally, don't apply for lots of things at once including credit cards, mobile phone contracts and loans. It will look to the lenders as though you are in need of cash quickly and they will not be happy about that. The above guidelines should go a long way to making the card providers feel satisfied that you will be a reliable customer.
