Am I the only person that believes that each person is entitled to their personal information, personal credit portfolio, and their own identity information free of charge? After all it is their own personal information. p> I believe that creditors should have to pay each and every person anytime they,(the creditors), request a report of your credit
I also believe that a person should have access to that information, the same exact information that the reporting agency has on their computer screens, not just a print out of the information they want to give you. Even if it is read only mode. Unable for you to modify, of course.
People should have their birth, marriage, divorce, death certificates free. At least the first or second you obtain.
Along with that, I believe you should be able to get the original and the hall of records should have a copy of the original.
It makes no sense what-so-ever as to why people have to pay to get information about themselves.
Everthing in this world cost money. The cost of even basic items like groceries have increased extremely in the past 10 years.
The excuse the news reported was because of gas prices. Well, gas has gone down. So, why hasn't the cost of food?
The cost of medical, dental, housing, even going to family oriented places have risen so much many people can barely afford it.
Both parents are working full time just so they can afford to live a life that they say is normal and necessary to be happy. On top of all that people have to pay $30, $50, up to $100 for papers with their own personal information.
If you ask me there is something seriously wrong with all of these charges and fees we have. Like interest, someone is late on a bill because they can't pay, so add more money to what they already owe and maybe that will enable that person to pay now. What?! How does that even make the slightest sense.
Some have argued, "it is what pays for the employees jobs to get the information to someone". In this day and age of digital and internet, it doesn't take much to push a button or retrieve a file from a filing cabinet.
These days they check your information, credit report for everything from getting a loan to applying for a job. Each time they do check it goes on your credit as negative. Why?
Maybe if there were less charges and fees and interest families would have more of their hard earned money to actually enjoy their family instead of always stressing on bills and things that have a price that should not have one.
Just a side note: I am a normal person living in this money and power driven country. This is only me ranting and stating my opinion. I am not a professional in any way. This is all pure opinion. Please feel free to comment and/ or criticize this article.
