A Skeptic View Of the Miami Zombie Attack

So I woke up this morning and did my daily "log onto facebook to see what's happening in the world" routine. I laughed at some of the things people posted and saw some pictures...but what really caught my eye was something about a Zombie attack. I figured why not get another laugh right? Oddly enough, I wasn't exactly laughing anymore when I started reading the report.

As far as the story goes, a naked black man who was high as hell off some bath salts and started randomly eating the face off a homeless man. Police came and asked the man to repeatedly remove himself from the homeless man, but his reaction was him turning back at the Policeman and growled to him like an savage beast then turned back to continue feasting. Shots were let off several times, and then shot in the head.

Oh yea, I mentioned earlier about the Bath Salts? Apparently it's a new Street drug that causes the user to become delirious, overheated, and highly aggressive. It took a few police officers to take the man down who according to them, have been granted an untold amount of strength because of the drug. So in my mind, this is more or less this: Bath Salts = G virus for those who understand the terminology (Reference: Resident Evil). Still, I find this all very hard to believe but the evidence is out there as clear as day.

So now people in Miami are to be a little afraid to roam the streets alone all because of a drug giving people zombie-like qualities? At any rate, I still find this story a bit sketchy at best. If something of this magnitude was happening, why hasn't the government do the usual and cover it up and pretend like it never happened at all? People will read this and will naturally invoke a small bit of panic within them. Or.. perhaps they will just dismiss it like I did. However, one thing that I wonder (and those who have played enough Resident Evil games, or watched any movies relating to zombies), is what of the homeless man who was bitten? he may be infected and none of us are aware of it yet. Even as I write this now, it is still undetermined.

Final Opinion of the Miami Zombie Attack:

Man I don't know what to really think of it. On one end, I'm slightly worried that this may be the start of a zombie apocalypse that everyone talks about every now and again. If I remember correctly, in the games and in the movies, they dismissed it as well like nothing was going on. That was until they heard more reports of it happening in other areas. I can just hope that it's not us. On the other hand, It's like I don't really believe this crap. If this had the potential to throw the public into a frenzy, then the government and military would be covering up this story by now. Who knows, all we can do is wait for the coming days of this developing story.

Well they say that it's bath salts.. but I feel it may be a cover-up story to give them enough time to ask.. "ok guys.. what the hell just happened in miami?"

I've heard about the bath salt drug before- about a year or so ago. People have been known to do some extraordinary things. I find it very sickening what this particular guy did. The strange thing about them is that they aren't the bath salts that most people put in their tubs, which are often made out of epsom salt. These are made out of methylenedioxypyrovalerone and/or pyrovalerone and sold with the label "not for human consumption."

Hmm.. That bit I didn't know of.. the whole methylenedioxypyrovalerone part. At any rate, I just hope it stays at "he's on drugs" and just leave it at that. But from what I been hearing, that this stuff is still selling regardless of what took place at Miami
