Will passing more gun laws make us safer? In a recent study at Harvard University it was concluded that the more guns a country has, the crime rate drops. Several current statistics are revealing more guns equal less crime.
Criminals are just as afraid of being shot as we are. Passing more firearm control laws takes away their fear of being shot. Also, criminals have never been stopped by the gun registration process and background checks. Higher crime rates are being reported to be increasing in the big cities that are passing more gun laws. Some big cities say the crime rate is so high and police have reported to be so overwhelmed, they're not even able to react to many types of the crimes being committed. Let's face it, are you going to rely on the police department to protect you?
Gun ownership is our second amendment right but it seems as though there is a relentless effort by the powers that be to restrict that right. The constant push from the media portraying guns to be bad for Americans is highly questionable. Are guns really bad for us? Are all gun owners untrained fanatics unable to make good decisions? No, that's an absurd projection. Most gun owners that bear arms for they're own protection are trained and responsible law abiding citizens. The following is 5 facts about guns and safety.
1. During the past twenty years, soaring gun sales have been the norm but gun related fatalities are down, also in that time other firearm related crimes were down considerably (a recent Pew Research Center Survey).
2. A recent study done by Harvard University learned that countries that have more gun owners are reported to have a lower crime rate (The American Civil Rights Union).
3. Over a hundred ninety thousand women in our great nation successfully protect themselves against sexual crimes every year (Fox&HoundsDaily).
4. Across the board, guns in the United States are used eighty times more often to prevent a crime than they are to take a life (TheTruthWins).
5. In Australia, gun murders increased and armed robberies increased by a large percent after a gun ban was instituted (SHTFplan).
These are but a few statistics that can be found to support the fact that guns, when used safely and responsibly, can help protect ourselves and our nation. I am not a gun owner myself but common sense tells me, guns don't commit crimes people do.
Interesting article about a hotly contested issue. What do you think about recent proposals to allow any citizen to carry a firearm without a permit. Part of the argument states that all of the necessary laws are already in place.
Thanks for the comment Chip. That's my feeling exactly criminals will be criminals.
This is all quite silly IMO. Even if no one had guns, criminals would go back to hacking at people with swords. You don`t solve violence by taking away the medium...
