Michael Jacksons Doctor Behind Bars

Todays is November 29th and Conard Murray, Michael Jackson’s Doctor was sentenced to four years behind bars. Who is this well educated man that could of had it all, but would throw his whole life away by taking someone else’s life away for the love of money.

Conrad Murray was born in Grenada in 1953. He did not come from money as he lived with his grandparents so his mother Milta could work in Trinidad. Murray did move to Trinidad to be with his mother in 1960. Murray finished high school then and he volunteered as a elementary teacher. Murray did land a job as an insurance underwriter and customs clerk to pay for college. Murray bought a house and sold it for a nice profit to in pay his tuition in the United States at the age of 19.

Murray’s father was not around while he was growing up. Murray did meet his father later when he was 25 years old. Murray’s father Rawle Andrew who was a physician in Houston and cared for the poor till he passed away in 2001.

Murray enrolled at Texas Southern University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude three years later with a degree in pre-med, and biological sciences. Then attended Meharry Medical Collage in Nashville Tennessee. This is the same medical collage that his dad had attended. Murray also trained at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Murray did his residency in California at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Murray did his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Arizona. Murray worked at the Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego where he worked in the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Training Program as the Associate Director. In 1999 Murray went into private practice in Las Vegas. In 2006 Murray returned to Houston and opened Acres Home Heart and Vascular Institute.

Murray did have some financial problems. Murray had court judgments against his Las Vegas practice for more then $400,000 dollars. He also had unpaid debts, tax liens, and lawsuits. Murray also was ordered to pay $3,700 dollars in back child support.

Murray met Michael Jackson in 2006. Jackson was in Vegas and contacted Dr. Murray about a medical situation with one of his children. They became friends and Jackson then approached Dr. Murray about being his personal physician. Jackson offered Dr. Murray $150,000 dollars a month. With Dr. Murray’s debt, I think the money was worth more then the friendship. I think it went to his head. I also think Jackson’s friendship with Murray had very little to do with a friendship. I think it was his addiction to prescription medicine.

Murray was a very smart and intelligent person, he did well in school. Some times people who are book smart just don’t have a lot of common sense. I think that both of these men made some very bad decisions. The results of these decisions cost them dearly, their futures. This is just my opinion but the facts are there.
