Aliahna Lemon, the nine year old, disabled girl who was reported missing by a man called a trusted family friend has been found dead according to an Allen County Sheriff's spokesman. Mike Plumadore, age 39, had been watching Aliahna and her two sisters because their mother had been ill with the flu, allegedly left them alone in his trailer while he went to a gas station one mile away. Store security cameras confirm that Plumadore was in the store at the time he claimed and that he did buy a cigar as he had told deputies. After smoking his cigar, Plumadore claimed to have gone back to bed for several more hours.
The six year old sister of the missing girl told Plumadore that their mother had taken Aliahna around ten am, but he did not confirm that story with the girls' mother. Tarah Souders, the twenty eight year old mother of the three girls called around eight pm and was shocked to discover that Plumadore thought that her daughter was with her. The police were called and Aliahna was reported missing.
Souders reported that her child had several emotional and physical problems, including vision and hearing loss, attention deficit disorder and emotional problems that often lead to behavioral incidents. The girl's grandmother, Amber Story also told the media that Aliahna had a history of sleepwalking and had gotten out of the family home in the past.
Over one hundred people searched the mobile home park where Plumadore lived on Saturday but there were no searches on Sunday because of the Christmas holiday. The sheriff's department expressed great concern because the mobile home park is a known hot spot for registered sex offenders, with fifteen registered offenders living in the twenty four homes in the park.
On Monday, Allen County Sheriff's department spokesman Cpl. Jeremy Tinkel, reported that the child's body had been found but did not provide any details about where or the condition of her body. Plumadore was arrested later in the day and held on murder charges. His initial court appearance had been scheduled for Tuesday, December 27th.
Plumadore has now allegedly confessed to the crime, admitting to police that he beat the disabled girl to death with a brick and then stuffing her body into bags. He later used a saw to cut her into pieces, keeping her head, hands and feet while disposing of her torso. A search warrant was executed on his home, with police recovering the girl's severed body parts. Tinkel said that police had focused their attentions on Plumadore from the start.
Where are the search dogs when you need them. One of the reasons that I got into Search and Rescue is these kind of events. Here in Rochester we had a case where Kaylee Poulton disappeared from the front of her house while dad was working in the yard. A Neighbor abducted and killed her. Eventually, his GF figured out how sick he was and contacted the authorities. This was not the first time either. He's now serving 3 consecutive life sentences.
As a mother of an 8 year old daughter, this was one of the hardest articles I have ever had to write. I went back and forth about how much detail I wanted to add and finally did choose to add the description of what this vile monster did to this precious little girl. there can never be a reason that this was done, his reasoning would make little sense to those of us with any sense of compassion or humanity.
yeah I hear you, my wife and I have an 11 year old girls and it makes me shudder to think about this, I am glad you wrote this article tho, people should know what's going on in the world, if this helps even a single person to be more careful or take a small extra step to keep their child safe I would call it a great article. Amie my facebook name or URL or whatever you want to call it is tyarronjohnson if you would like to add me.
This is sad. I can barely even get myself to think about it. That little girl had her whole life in front of her... I'm very leery of the death sentence, but if anybody should be put to death, it's this man right here (if he actually did it, which is most likely yes).
This is probably the worst thing you can possibly do. He didn't even tell why he started beating her with a brick in the first place..... Put the sex offender part together with the fact of him beating her with a brick, what do you think really happened?
This guy was not a registered sex offender but did have a criminal history including a number of violent charges. It was the mobile home park where 15 registered offenders lived. Why the mother would leave the kids with the guy for so long in the first place is what is really troubling to me. This case is going to be just much more unbearable as more questions get answered.
This is so vile and disgusting to even think how someone could do such a thing, or why someone would do such a thing. It makes me sick, no it makes me almost want to cry actually.
