The Ama Atv Mx 2012

Can-Am ATV and UTV racers are off for another spectacular performance this season as they continue to dominate various races. Let’s pick up the action in April 21-22 at the AMA ATV MX 2012.

AMA ATV MX defending champion John Natalie Jr. and rookie Joel Hetrick of Team Motoworks and Can-Am DS were the second and the third placers during the Round 2 of the championship of AMA ATV Motocross 2012 Series happened at Blountville, Tennessee. Can-Am X-Team ATV and side-bys-side racers earned similar success at races held in Texas and Iowa.

Jimmy O’dell, the Can-Am race manager complemented the Natalie and Hetrick and he said that the two racers rode well.

Natalie started moto 1 in the top three and he took the race lead at the third lap. Unluckily, the rain made the track very slippery. It rained hard during the final four laps eventually causing him to lose the lead to his former teammate and currently Wienen Motorsports’ Chad Wienen at the last minute of the race. Natalie then finished second.

When the rain poured hard, learning from previous experience, Hetrick played safe in order to have his his position all the time. Instead of chasing at the race leaders, he wisely just laid low and maintained his race standing. He then finished third. Honda’s Josh Upperman, Yamaha’s Thomas Brown and Honda’s Nick DeNoble placed fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

In moto 2, starting fourth and fifth respectively, Natalie and Hetrick had a less satisfactory start as compared to moto 1. However, in the final laps, the teammates managed to make it to the top and they fiercely battled against each other for the second place. Hetrick overtook Natalie but the latter managed to take back the lead and thus finished second. Upperman settled for his second fourth finish for the day and Honda’s Joe Byrd made it to the fifth place.

Natalie (2-2) then landed second overall for the day, second only to Wienen (1-1), while Hetrick (3-3) landed third earning him his first pro podium with Motoworks/Can-Am. Upperman (4-4) finished fourth over all while Brown (5-6) settled into the fifth place. Currently, Natalie and Hetrick are second and fifth respectively on the AMA ATV Motocross Championship Pro Point Standings.

In the Pro-Am Production class, Can-Am X-Team rider Cole Henry finished third overall. Meanwhile, Travis Spader with his Can-Am DS 450 emerged victorious at three different classes which are as follows: Veteran 30+ A, 4-Stroke A and Junior 25+. Another Can-Am rider, Merril Crose, won two race classes—Open A and 450 A.

Zach Harris won all four motos at the District 22 Series MX race in Iowa. This has caused him to win that Quad A as well as the Quad A Production.

Cody Miller won the ATV Pro class with a Louis Powersports-prepped DS 450. On the other hand, his brother Hunter, aboard on a Can-Am Commander 1000X, won the UTV unlimited class.
