How to measure bike frame?
Now you should stand over your bike and look for distance between crotch and bike crossbar. Usually that distance should be at least 2", or a little bit more, but there is no rule. Now, set your seat so that you touching peddle with foot but at the same time your leg is fully extended. This means that when you riding on the balls of your feet your leg will be slightly bent. This is very important because by not doing it so, you will put to much weight knees and these usually leads to injury.
If your seat is right down on it's lowest margin and your legs are slightly bent when you riding, it seems that frame is to big for you. If seat is on it's higher margin when your legs are slightly bent the frame is too small. This is also important cause if your seat is already on it's margins ( lower or higher ) you can't adjust it when you need. For example when you need to ride down the mountain.
