Road ID Band

Would you rather wear a stylish Road ID Band when cycling, or risk being involved in a serious accident and have first responder's not know anything about you? Neither your name nor medical information.

Having crucial medical information available on your Road ID Band can prevent serious delays in treatment during the golden hour of medical treatment.

The information on your ID Band allows medical staff to contact your family immediately, who can then provide more details about your health, such as allergies. And, God forbid, give consent to life saving procedures.

The small cost of a Road ID Band can literally save your life, or more importantly the life of your kids.

No-one thinks about having a serious accident, otherwise we wouldn’t leave the front door in the morning, but accidents can and do happen, hundreds of thousands of people are taken to hospital unconscious and without identification each year. (USA figures).

I know we all carry phones with us when we ride, I don’t know about you, but my smart phone has a code to enter before any information, such as an In Case of Emergency (ICE) number can be accessed.

So if for whatever reason you can’t verbally communicate, then the phone is useless.

I’ve seen ICE cards, where you write the phone number of your contact on it. But these, like your phone are normally stashed away in one of your jersey pockets.

Far better to wear an Road ID Band, which is easily accessible in any situation, rather than having first responders rummage around in your jersey pockets, which could be covered by a tight fitting jacket or rain coat.

Road ID Bands are made up of a metal tag, where you have your details engraved, up to six lines of information, attached to a wrist band. They are very stylish and comfortable to wear. I wear mine all the time now, and don’t even notice it anymore.

They come in several styles, from the slim line model, suitable for children, to the more robust larger models, with a range of coloured bands to suit your personality.

Replacement bands are available, so you can have a different colour for each day of the week.

They make excellent gifts for family and friends, and are a practical way to show someone you care for them.

So for your own sake, get yourself a Road ID Band, and more importantly get one for your families sake.

It’s a very small price to pay for peace of mind.
