Reducing The Difficulty Of Perfecting Hip Hop Dancing Moves

Hip hop dance is a unique dance form exuding a distinctive culture. With history dating back to the 70s, it is enjoyed mainly by the youth. However, people of all ages, young and old, also use hip hop dance as a form of exercise because they love dancing.

When you first watched a hip hop dance recital, it may seem rather complex because this dance style often consists of very fast moves and many combinations of various routines. As such, it can actually be quite frustrating for some who cannot catch up in the choreography. This is especially so for newbies who just begin hip hop dance classes - they may even give up their dance dreams because it is just too difficult.

The crucial key to mastering hip hop dance quickly is to get the foundational concepts right. Once you have got your basic concepts effectively, you will begin to understand how you are able to move your body into a dance and thus accelerate your learning and you will find yourself appreciating the choreography more, not just trying to figure out what's the next step. Those who hung on and got over the starting levels of knowing hip hop fall incredibly in love with dancing.

Here are 3 tips on how to get started:

Tip 1: Immerse Yourself with Everything Hip Hop

Switch on your TV, get the hottest music and dance routines from channels such as MTV or VH1. Watch the pros in action, then learn and replicate the best.

Tip 2: Move with the Beat

Grasp the skill to locate the beat in a song. While listening to a certain music piece, listen out for the driving beat of the bass. Practice identifying and pointing out the driving beat of the song whenever you are plugged in to any music. The key is to disregard every other instrument or distraction and concentrating on finding the beat. With enough training, you are likely to be able to find it.

Tip 3: Begin with a Beginner's Mind

Even if you have gone for hip hop dance classes before in the past or you have tried to learn it yourself, the key is to forget what you know. Music and dance are artistic forms to begin with therefore in order to grasp a new style of dance, you have to 'empty' your mind of past experiences and learn with a Beginner's Mind.

I hope this article is beneficial to help you quickly boost your journey in learning challenging dance moves at hip hop dance classes effortlessly and efficiently. I wish you loads of fun and hope you enjoy the experience!
