You think if only I could make him understand, I could fix this. Oh to have a man mistake eraser. Those are great intentions, but it all depends. Sometimes talking it out right away isn't the answer.
Maybe you were needy and clingy. Maybe you were a drama queen and now he is pulling away. There is a chance you don't even understand why he is being distant. Then again, maybe he is really angry at you. What ever the reason or how you screwed up the relationship, you want it right again. You wish you had that man mistake eraser and now.
Nancy and Mike were getting along great, things were progressing at what she thought was perfect. She felt comfortable and started calling and texting him all the time. He asked for space. Nancy panicked. She called him even more asking questions. How much time? Was he coming back? Without realizing it, she aappeared even more clingy.
Nancy didn't realize she was pushing him further away. Mike got really angry. Nancy wasn't respecting his request for space and he dumped her for good. Too late now for a man mistake eraser, or is it?
That's the thing, we want it fixed now, now, now. If you are beating your head against the wall trying to figure out what to say to make it right, stop. You are reacting out of a place of emotions. You are feeling the pain, and you are wanting to make it stop. Understandable, but be careful before you make it worse.
You probably want to tell him how you feel. Men don't really like talking about feelings. This is not to say that they won't but it's all about timing with men. If you talk to him when you want to and he isn't at that place yet, your words will fall on deaf ears. Mike got furious with Nancy for trying to push the issue.
If you have screwed up your relationship, stop, breath, and try to calm down. Accept that this will not be solved overnight. Focus on long term satisfaction and not instant gratification. You want him to be in a place where he is willing to listen and this takes time.
Men process drama differently than we do. Their instinct is to run. Let him run, if he cares, he won't go far. Give him time to sort it out, give him space. No nagging, proding or pushing. If you step back, it gives him room to come to you.
After a man has cooled, he is more open to listen to what you say. He will hear what you are saying and pay attention. The more severe your screw up, the more time he may need to get to this place.
There is hope. There is a man mistake eraser here.
