Do you and your loved one have a date this weekend? What are you planning to do? You might be having dinner at a nice restaurant and then going to see a movie, for example. You might have tickets to see a play at the local theatre. Finally, if you do not have much money, but you still want to get together, you might be planning a romantic walk in the moonlight. Each setting offers its own opportunities for conversation.
If you go out to dinner and then go see a movie, your conversation will likely be about the restaurant you are visiting, the food you are eating, and the movie that you will be seeing. Since many people go out to dinner and then go see a movie, however, you might decide to do something a little different. You might instead choose to go see a play at the local theatre.
By choosing a play, you will get to see live actors playing out a story on a stage in front of you. You will also have the benefit of an intermission between acts. During the intermission, you can talk with your loved one about what you have seen so far. After intermission, however, the theatre lights will go down, the stage lights will come up, and the play will continue. You and your date will not have to talk. If you do not feel like seeing a play or a movie, however, you might instead decide to go for a walk.
When the two of you get together for your walk, you will go to a scenic spot, hold hands, walk, and talk. Since the goal of your date is to get closer and to build your relationship, you will likely not be speed-walking. Instead, you will be walking slowly, focusing on each other. You might talk about your family, friends, work, or school, for example. These topics will give you plenty to talk about and will help you get to know each other better.
At some point, however, you may run out of things to talk about. You might then walk in silence for a while, listening to the sounds around you.
As you get close to someone, you can usually sense how he is feeling. You can tell when everything is okay and when something is wrong. If your date senses that something is wrong, he might ask, "What's on your mind?" If you have something on your mind, it is important to be honest and admit it. Tell your date what you are thinking.
For example, you might be worried about an upcoming test you have at school. Your date may offer to meet with you to help you study. School is not all that may find its way into your thoughts and interrupt your special evening, however.
You may have started getting migraine headaches. If you tell your date how you have been feeling, he will likely encourage you to go see a doctor so that you can find out what is wrong. He cares about you, and he wants you to be alright.
Whatever you will be doing on your next date, talk--as often as you can. It will help the two of you to get closer, and you will be able to see if your relationship is right.
