Madoff Brother Admits Fraud

The story of the Madoff ponzi scheme is a sad one that has involved numerous people and left thousands more holding an empty bag. Many of the victims of the decades-long ponzi scheme have been reduced to living on the brink of homelessness. Some mistakes cost the lives of entire families, while other money managers chose to commit suicide rather than face all the lost money. Thankfully, law enforcement is continuing to search for evidence against anyone who has ever been a part of the fraud. Recently, the brother of Bernie Madoff has plead guilty to tax evasion and other crimes that are a part of the ponzi scheme.

Investigators found that Peter Madoff was the lawyer for the company during many of the years in operation. During these years he allegedly forged documents and defrauded both the government and investors out of billions of dollars. In total, over $65 billion was stolen from the combined groups. Many of the people who lost money are still asking why exactly there are Madoff family members who are not yet behind bars. Many of them are seeking harsh penalties for what they see as the swindling of the century.

Many investigators see the same problems and hope to catch as many people who were complicit in the crime as possible. Already, the brother has been arrested and is facing serious crimes (for which he is not denying). Both of the sons have also felt serious backlash including one who hanged himself recently. Nonetheless, there are still other characters such as Madoff’s wife and many of the other family members and lawyers who have not been found guilty and sentenced to jail just yet. Understandably, this makes a number of the people who have suffered very upset.

In fact, there are a large group of investors who have been brought to the brink of bankruptcy because of the ponzi scheme that Bernie Madoff was able to concoct. Some of these poor people have been living with credit card and may have too many payday loans since the ponzi scheme was shown to be a hoax. Many of these formerly successful business men and women now need help with eliminating payday loan debts and credit card debts because there is no other way to really provide for their family. Even worse, there are many retired and elderly people who have lost their life’s savings and are now struggling to survive.

Such bad karma, it seems typical of the greed in our society today. There have been even bigger Ponzi schemes, and they're being bailed out by our tax dollars. Will it be made right in the end? I don't know.

These types of schemes will keep popping up until someone catches them and shuts them down. It all stems from greed
