Many people think that jobs should just be something that earns money. While this might be true for many, this isn’t the only reason you should choose your job. Sometimes it is nice to get a job where you help people. Many of these people are going through hard times because of the economic conditions. Some have been homeless or poor for a long time. Either way, offering a helping hand is just as important for your profession as making a lot of money. After all, unless you leave the world better than you found it, there is no point in life!
Helpful Jobs
One of the best jobs to combine making money and helping people is the field of medicine. You can help other people who are in serious need of medical help. However, the best ways to provide helpful services is to go to places that cannot afford great medical care, but need help. That way you can visit and provide services that a first world country might have to developing nations.
Another great job is teaching. You definitely will not earn a lot of money unless you are a well respected and published professor at a prestigious university. However, you are helping the next generation of kids to expand their mind and find what interests them. You may be teaching the next president so you will have a lot of importance with your job.
Aid workers also do not make a lot of money, but they are well respected and help people all over the world. Many of the people that aid workers help have diseases or have had a very difficult life. These people deserve the help that aid workers provide because nobody else will.
Unusual Jobs to Help
There are a few jobs that are somewhat unusual for helping as well. Almost nobody would consider the financial industry as one where somebody could enter and make a difference in the world. Nonetheless, there are some positions that are quite helpful.
For example, there are people who provide payday loan debt consolidation and payday loan debt settlement whom are helping millions of struggling people in the United States every day. Many of these people are frightened due to unlicensed and unscrupulous lenders and they really need someone who is on their side. These consolidators have a lot of experience in the industry and they can usually help people get out of a great deal of debt. Having a job that actually helps people in a good way is also very rewarding.
Very nice Meredith. They truly are amazing people. Need more people like them nowadays.
I have a cousin who is a doctor, they do missionary work every year in some pretty bad places like Russia and The Philippines, and many other places around the world, I too have a great deal of respect for them, I am trying to get involved with helping myself, only a little closer to home. if everyone helped just one person a day, no one would do without.
For me David, aside from kind of jobs that help people ...any job you have can help by donating even a few dollar and it's a 10x s fold in return.
you have some great ideas here for people about working...I hope people starting out in the work force can think about what it is they would enjoy doing for the rest of their life...I have met many people who do not enjoy their work,
I think millions of people do not enjoy their work which is sad because we grow up dreaming about who we want to be. Where does that fall apart in our process of growing up that we end up in such a dreary job? Thankfully I love what I do and making a difference.
