Impacted Wisdom Teeth - Symptoms - Treatment

Third molar teeth are called impacted wisdom teeth, which are present at the behind of the mouth. They are not visible to us but are present at the end of the mouth and do not occupy the space like the other teeth. They do not develop normally like the other teeth.

These teeth are present in the adults not to the children. They are the last adult teeth and develop at the age of the twenty-one to twenty-four.

The people have these teeth at the upper and the lower part of the gums. Two teeth are present at the upper level and two are present at the lower part.

Impacted teeth can be growing without pain and the wisdom teeth recovery is about from three to four days. You even do not realize the teeth on that part.

It efforts to come out and causes the swelling of the gums from that part. It can cause the infection which is known as pericoronitis.

If the infection created by the impacted teeth is not treated at the time then it spread in the throat and to the neck.

If the infection becomes severe then it may require the complete surgery. Like other teeth, they can also get cavity problems and transfer the cavity to the next teeth.

In this way, the cavity problem spreads in all teeth and can cause the decay of the gums and responsible for creating a disease related to the mouth.

These are the following signs that show the presence of the wisdom teeth:

Symptoms

The pain in the area of the wisdom teeth continues for many days and diminishes after few days but it comes back after a month or weeks. These are the symptoms which let you know about the growth of the impacted wisdom teeth.

  • A foul smell from the mouth.
  • A bitter and bad taste in your mouth.
  • A swelling of the gums at the end of the mouth.
  • Severe pain when you open your mouth.
  • The facing of the difficulties when you open your mouth.
  • The blood comes from the gums

Treatment

When you visit the dentist then he looks out the area of the impacted teeth and takes the x-ray of it to show the impacted teeth.

They see the case and according to the condition they fill up the teeth or remove the third molar in order to avoid the future problems.

In many cases, all the third molar teeth come out and only one-time surgery have to be done for removing the impact wisdom teeth and the wisdom teeth recovery takes four to seven days.

Sometimes, these teeth are removed before they grow out in order to avoid the complications and the future problems.

If it is not removed in time then it can cause the disease related to gums. It may affect the other teeth. It can be responsible for causing the decay of the teeth as well.

It can form cysts in the jawbone which damages the jawbone. When you take the treatment from the dentist then the wisdom teeth recovery takes maximum four to five week.
