Invisalign is a uniquely innovative and modern approach to straightening teeth. A custom-made series of aligners made of smooth, clear plastic, it’s an orthodontic device used to adjust teeth and is an alternative to traditional metal braces. Its “invisible” quality is especially designed for those with minor orthodontic issues and wants a discreet way of undergoing orthodontic treatment.
What makes it stand out from other orthodontic techniques aside from its invisible quality is the use of ClinCheck computer software. This is what creates a start-to-finish digital model of your teeth and a 3D treatment plan which allows your dentist to navigate your teeth more effectively and map out the best possible treatment for you. The digital model also shows all the series of movements the teeth may go through before it finally reaches its final, correct position. The Invisalign range of aligners is manufactured by Align Technology. There are currently two new additions to the Invisalign family: Invisalign Lite and Invisalign i7.
Invisalign i7
Invisalign 7 is the latest addition to be welcomed into the Invisalign range of aligners. Also called Invisalign for teenagers, it is designed primarily for minor tooth correction and movement particularly for young adults. It provides an easy and convenient solution, with results achieved in just a minimum of three months. Like other Invisalign products, Invisalign is a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional metal braces since it’s made of clear, soft, and elastic material, so you can flash your widest smile without worrying how it looks.
Invisalign 7 can treat slight overcrowding teeth and crooked teeth, especially the front teeth. It straightens teeth by applying pressure on specific teeth at varied times. Aligners are custom made to fit into your teeth and are worn two weeks at a time. Your dentist will be the one to hand you the next set of aligners and as you replace them, your teeth will move little by little back into its correct position. Invisalign i7 is the easiest option available for minor correction.
Invisalign Lite
Invisalign Lite is touted as the “express” version of the original, full Invisalign treatment. It’s an easy, quick, and ingenius solution to correct orthodontic problems. Treatment typically takes under six months, and you’ll be wearing a total of 14 aligners.
Invisalign Lite can treat mild crowding of teeth, orthodontic problems that require minimal movement, and minimal to no rotation of teeth. It is recommended for those who have had experience wearing traditional braces in the past but have not yet used retainers to maintain the corrected position of their teeth.
The technology used is exactly the same as with the original Invisalign system. Patients will receive a computer-generated custom made set of aligners made of the same soft, high quality, and transparent plastic the original Invisalign product is known for.
Whatever the nature of your orthodontic problems, your dentist will recommend which Invisalign treatment will work best for your case.
