Treat Gum Disease - How To Treat Gum Disease

Prevention is better than cure. This saying applies to everything, including taking care of our gums. And the only way to treat gum disease permanently is to have a healthy and routine dental hygiene, one that is prescribed by the dentist.

There are various stages of gum disease. For example, having bad breath, noticing very sensitive teeth, and consistently having bleeding gums are just some of the examples of having gum disease.

Here are the 2 major gum diseases that can be found literally everywhere:

Gingivitis - is the most common form of gum disease because it is also the easiest to "acquire." The word gingivitis means "inflammation of the gums." This can start as early as 11 or 12 years old. Symptoms would be swollen gums, sometimes even accompanied by bleeding. And it actually doesn't stop there. It can get worse and eventually the patient would need to have surgery to remove the damaged tooth. Sometimes the symptoms don't show up until the tooth is already "condemned".

Treating gingivitis is easier than you think better dental hygiene. Now you might say that having regular, routine, and good dental hygiene is harder to follow than just doing a surgery to treat gum disease, but believe me, its not. Correct practice in brushing the teeth, having good flossing techniques, and even gargling mouthwash after every brush are just some of the better ways to prevent gingivitis.

Periodontitis - is another one of the major gum diseases. Its definition in the Webster Dictionary is "the inflammation of the tissue around the teeth, often causing shrinkage of the gums and loosening of the teeth." In extreme cases, due to the recession of the gums from the tooth itself, you lose your teeth if emergency measures are not taken.

The cleansing process for this gum disease starts with an extensive dentist checkup, along with his recommendations, and then the hard part of applying them, regularly and even religiously.

Another way to clean periodontitis is to clean, scrape, and remove plaque and tartar from the gums that are clearly hit by periodontitis. Antibiotics are sometimes used in some extreme cases of infection and inflammation. And when worse comes to worst, surgery may be the only option.

Conclusion

Have your teeth checked immediately, if you are not a regular dentist-visiting person. Let the dentist analyze what steps you need to take and then be religious in following it.

There are so many ways to treat gum disease. But like what we said in the beginning, prevention always beats cure, every time. Another important thing to consider when treating gum disease is to check the One minute cure for effective treatment and prevention.
