Guilt Free Desserts Ebook Review

I invite you to discover a three part eBook part series that will turn any dessert into a healthy alternative, at Starters, Desserts, Cookie. The author is Kelley Herring, the world’s leading expert in providing organic, sustainable recipes and meal plans for healthy lifestyles. She is the founder & CEO of Healing Gourmet. She is also the editor of a four book series published by McGraw-Hill: Eat to Lower Cholesterol, Eat to fight Cancer, Eat to Boot Fertility and Eat to Beat Diabetes.

A brief review of the trilogy available from the site about guilt free desserts is as follows:

1. Awesome Appetizers – Tips, Sips & Healthy Hors D’Oeuvres Perfect for Any Occasion

The book helps you to offer festive and delicious, low-glycemic holiday hors d’oeuvres that

will delight your guests and help keep them healthy to enjoy the festivities.

Two primary ways that people gain unwanted holiday pounds are:

• Cocktail hour of sipping calorie-dense alcoholic drinks coupled with eating refined, processed appetizers

• Irresistible desserts

In this e-Book, you are served with 15 all-natural, healthy holiday horsd’oeuvres and five low-sugar “adult cocktails” that will help you to indulge in the best of the season’s bounty without paying for it later!

But that’s not all. The authors also help you prevent the second mistake people make—

dessert. You might think twice about eating Aunt Helga’s Rum Cake if you knew each

slice had 600 calories and packed a whopping 30 grams of sugar! But you needn’t go without

dessert. The authors have got that covered too - Guilt Free Desserts!

2. Guilt Free Desserts.

This eBook offers 50 Simple Recipes You Can Use to Whip-Up All Natural, Gluten Free, Diabetic Safe and Low Glycemic Desserts you can feel good about making and enjoying.

Gone are the days you must choose between the enjoyment of a sweet treat and your health, thanks to the latest good-for-you sweeteners. The newest sugar substitutes used in creating these mouthwatering desserts aren’t the fake. These cutting edge sweeteners come straight from Mother Nature and are considered “functional ingredients” - meaning they provide health benefits beyond basic nutrition.

But if you’re not a food scientist, you may not even know these sweet alternatives exist, let alone how to use them in your favorite dessert recipes. That’s where Healing Gourmet comes in. The team at Healing Gourmet has been working with these amazing ingredients to create decadent and sumptuous desserts—with none of the guilt. In fact, some of these desserts (serving for serving) provide more fiber than whole grain cereal, more protein than chicken, less sugar than an apple and fewer calories than a serving of yogurt.

In this book you’ll not only find 50 delicious, gluten free, low glycemic, easy-to-make desserts you feel good about making and enjoying, but dozens of tips on these latest functional bakery ingredients and how to use them in your own kitchen.

Don’t resist your urge to splurge, the e-Book will show you how to have your cake…and be well too.

3.Copycat Girl Scout Cookies.

Unfortunately, Girl Scout Cookies are some of the WORST foods you can eat.

Here are the main ingredients you’ll find in the cookies:

SUGAR – has adverse effects on metabolism as it promotes weight gain, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and speeds physical aging. Other reasons to avoid sugar are:

• It causes tooth decay by feeding the harmful bacteria in the mouth.

• Repeatedly eating large amounts of sugar can lead to a fatty liver.

• Having too much sugar in the blood is highly toxic and leads to complications of diabetes, like blindness.

• Can lead to metabolic dysfunction where insulin stops working as it should. The cells become “resistant” to it. This is also known as insulin resistance, which is believed to be a leading driver of many diseases… including metabolic syndrome, obesity, cardiovascular disease and especially type II diabetes.

• Multiple studies show that people who eat a lot of sugar are at risk of getting cancer.

• Sugar can be very addictive. Like abusive drugs, this causes a release of dopamine in the brain.

• Sugar AFFECTS hormones and the brain, this dramatically increases the risk of becoming overweight or obese.

TRANS FATS/HYDROGENATED OIL – Trans fats raises your LDL ("bad") cholesterol and lowers your HDL ("good") (HDL) cholesterol. They are inflammatory and promote heart disease, diabetes, obesity and infertility.

HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP – Worse than sugar, worsens diabetes, Damages to your immune system, promotes (elevated triglycerides) heart disease, Speeds-up aging process, fatty liver, obesity and contains traces of mercury

GLUTEN – is a protein composite found in several types of grains, including wheat, spelt, rye and barley. Gluten consists of two proteins:- gliadin and glutenin. It is the gliadin part that people react negatively to. Here are some of the side-effects of gluten

• celiac disease (the most severe form of gluten sensitivity), the immune system attacks the gluten proteins, but it also attacks an enzyme in the cells of the digestive tract called tissue transglutaminase. The symptoms might manifest themselves in different ways, like fatigue or anemia.).

• Studies show that gluten can cause inflammation in the intestine and a degenerated intestinal lining. Gluten may also have negative effects on the barrier function of the intestine, allowing unwanted substances to “leak” through into the bloodstream.

• There are several other brain disorders that studies show respond well to a gluten-free diet, such as:

o Schizophrenia:

o Autism:

o Epilepsy:

REFINED, BLEACHED FLOUR – Raises blood sugar levels higher than table sugar, promotes obesity, physical aging and chronic disease

VEGETABLE OILS – Promotes oxidation and inflammation in the body, contributing to nearly every chronic disease from macular degeneration to cancer

CARAMEL COLOR – which has the chemical name: 4-methylimidazole (4-MeI) – is a common additive linked to increased blood pressure and can cause cancer?

Consumption of these ingredients –every now and then – can have a negative impact on your health.

It’s not all doom and gloom here’s hope…

You can still enjoy all of the delicious flavors of Girl Scout Cookies… without risking your health.

Better yet, enjoying these delicious copycat cookies can actually benefit your health… stabilize your cravings…and boost your weight loss efforts!

Using “intelligent ingredients” the Girl Scout Cookies are re-created as follows:

ïƒ¼ï€ Removed unwholesome ingredients like refined flour and gluten… and replaced them with healthy flours high fiber and satiating nut

ïƒ¼ï€ Discarded Trans fats and soybean oil … and substituted brain-fueling, fat-burning coconut oil and protein-rich eggs

ïƒ¼ï€ Dissed high fructose corn syrup and sugar. Instead use natural sweeteners which have a mix of erythritol and zero-glycemic stevia.

And all you’ll need is a few simple, wholesome ingredients to get started making these healthy cookies in your kitchen today!
