Most ice cream is made from dairy products, milk and cream and maybe mixed with fruit, nuts or other popular flavours. How is ice cream made in a factory? Well normally it will contain artificial additives, such as colourings and falvourings. Some ice cream is free from additives and if you are buying it in a tub from a store, you will be able to read the ingredients list. However if you are buying it in a cafe or from an ice cream stand, you will not know what the ingredients are. The mixture is slowly stirred by a machine so that no ice crystals form while cooling. Giving a nice smooth texture for the finished products

How is ice cream made at home?

Normally you would use an ice cream maker, of which there are many available to buy in the stores and online. If you're looking for the best prices then online is usually the best way to go. Ice cream does not always mean the same thing in every country. In the United States and the United Kingdom, ice cream refers to the product that you are probably thinking of right now and contains certain ingredients. Whereas in some other countries, ice cream can mean any frozen creamy desert, for example frozen yoghurt

If you're asking the question: how is ice cream made? Then you are probably trying to get more information on how you can make it at home. There are actually plenty ice cream recipe books where you can get really creative and make some exotic and delicious ice creams. Of course you will need an ice cream maker for this sort of thing. Or, you can make simple quick vanilla ice cream without any equipment at all.

How is ice cream made if you do not want to eat dairy products?

There is now a variety of dairy free types of ice cream available to purchase in the stores, either made from soya milk or rice milk. You can even get dairy free ice cream in several popular flavours, such as chocolate and strawberry. Some people are allergic to cows milk products and there is ice cream made from goats milk now in many stores. Of course, you can still make home made ice cream with non-dairy products or goats milk. Either simply substitute the cows milk for the rice milk, soya milk or goats milk. Or follow some recipes created specifically for non-dairy ice cream

So as far as how is ice cream made, you now have a good idea as to where to begin if you are planning making your own. You can either purchase an ice cream maker or try out the quick and easy five minute vanilla ice cream method
