4 Things to Do In Miraflores

Everyone who plans to visit or has visited Lima knows about Miraflores. It’s the city’s most affluent district and attracts scores of tourists every year. Locals and foreigners alike visit this place when they want to take a break away from city life and just relax. Miraflores has several luxury hotels as well, which has led to an increased presence of tourists in this place.

Miraflores is one of the safest places to visit in Lima and it has several attractions as well. Here’s a list of things to do in Miraflores:

1 – See the Cliff-side Gardens

Miraflores essentially means flower sights. Unsurprisingly, it’s known for its gardens. Watching the sunrise or the sunset from atop these cliffs is one of the best things to do in Miraflores. There are several wonderful gardens along the cliffs that are collectively called El Malecón.

The park is divided into three parts, Malecón de la Marina, which is located in the north, the Malecón Cisneros, which lies in the middle and the Malecón de la Reserva, which is located in the south. All these sections are worth visiting.

2 – Watch and Join the Para Gliders

When you visit the gardens, depending on the time, you can’t miss people leaping off the cliffs and gleefully riding the oceanic winds. Para gliding is a favorite hobby here and locals and tourists alike take advantage of it. For the adventurous spirit, this is one of the best things to do in Miraflores.

3 – Dine in Luxury

There are several excellent restaurants here that offer great meals. Whether you’re in mood for authentic Peruvian food or some excellent fusion dishes, you’ll find no lack of choice here. As an affluent district and a tourist attraction, you can easily find great, world-class restaurants here. Enjoy the taste of authentic Ceviche and Pisco Sour while you’re here. You’ll get to know Peru through its food. It’s one of the more interesting things to do in Miraflores.

4 – Visit Huaca Pucllana

Peru has a rich, diverse history that many visitors aren’t aware of. Most people think of the marvels of Macchu Pichu but don’t realize that there was a civilization older than that in Peru. The people of the Lima culture have built several temples, including Huaca Pucllana between 200 and 700 AD.

These are some of the best things to do in Miraflores. You can also walk through the residential area of the district which has some old colonial houses to soak in the charm of this place.
