If you are about to go to Disney for the first time, I bet you are feeling quite nervous about your trip. There is so much to see, and many people start getting very nervous and get worried that they won't be able to see everything! Today I want to go over three disney world tips for first timers like yourself. With these three tips, you'll be able to have a great time, and tour Disney like a pro.
Disney World Tip 1: Exercise!
If your trip is coming up soon, you need to start walking now. You will walk many miles over the course of your vacation. The theme parks in Disney World are large, and the weather is very hot. Especially in Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, you will spend much of the day walking. How to prepare?
First of all, just start walking a mile or two a day. Not only will you get in shape and possibly lose some weight, you'll also prepare yourself for Disney. Second, if you are a few months away, go ahead and buy your tennis shoes NOW. Buying new shoes the day before you leave is a BAD mistake. You need time to wear in your new shoes.
Disney World Tip 2: Proper Planning
You will be in awe of the parks when you first arrive. While I want you to take your time and "take it all in", I also recommend having a direction and a purpose! You can easily download the theme park maps on google and start preparing now. Doing this will allow you to know exactly where you are going when you arrive. I know you may be used to doing things spontaneously, and I'm not implying that isn't possible at Disney World. But it can be much easier if you have a well thought-out plan.
If you don't, you'll naturally follow the crowds and stay in busy lines. There are many touring plans out there that can give you step-by-step instructions. While they may seem too structured at the start, once you follow them, you'll stay out of lines which will keep everyone happy.
Disney World Tip 3: Learn the FASTPASS sytem
I highly recommend spending some time with Disney's FASTPASS system, and using it. You can use this system to reserve your place in line, and then come back an hour or two later and go to the front of the line. Many people that go for the first time assume that this is some special program or membership club. But's it's not! Everyone with a park pass can use the FASTPASS system, and I recommend that you do as well.
Hopefully these three tips can help you in your trip to Disney. I have additional disney tips for first timers that will without question make things easier for your family. I hope your trip is a success and that you and you family have a great time in Disney World!
Breaking in shoes before going is a great tip. We used to buy a new pair just for the vacation but that's a huge mistake as you point out.
My first time was much more walking than I expected. Great idea to know a head of time what to expect
The exercise is a great tip. Lots of walking and being on your feet. For a first timer like me, that is very good to know. What I can't bring my horse along. I can be on my horse's feet all day long and not get tired!
Some things I wouldn't have thought about. Oops, I need to go back to other article, forgot to share! Sorry!
