Punta Cana is the eastern most resort in the Dominican Republic. It is an area famed for its luxury hotels, and top quality resorts that are located on the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The Beaches.

The beaches in the Dominican Republic are among the best the Caribbean have to offer. All the beaches in Punta Cana have something to offer. The most famous beach is Bavaro with many top hotels located along this beach. Some of these beaches are great for families as they offer gently sloping sands into shallow warm waters. Some beaches are protected by reefs which form lagoons that are safe for little ones, and they are a great place to introduce children to the wonders of snorkeling. If you are up for venturing outside the resorts head north towards the Samana peninsula. There are plenty of deserted beaches around Miches.

Punta Cana For Children.

Many of the beach hotels in Punta Cana offer vacations on an all inclusive basis and have ample facilities to cater for children and teens. Many hotels have kids clubs, children’s swimming pools, activities, play areas and babysitting services. Many excursions are also available from the hotels. For teens and adults there are zip lines, white water rafting, tubing, mountain biking and hiking among other activities. Younger children will enjoy whale watching between the months of January and March. Swimming with dolphins is available closer to Punta Cana.

Diving and Snorkeling.

Whilst many of the better diving areas are around Puerto Plata and La Romana, Punta Cana has its fair share of diving and snorkeling sites. One option is to take a half day cruise to the open waters and have the opportunity to swim among stingrays and nurse sharks. The other option is to explore the many reefs that line the Punt Cana shore. There are endless opportunities to spot colorful fish and sea life just a few meters from the beach.

Golf

Golf is big in the Dominican Republic. It has the highest number of world class golf courses than any other Caribbean country. Furthermore, many of these golf courses are located around La Romana/Bayahibe and Punta Cana. Many hotels also offer special golf and vacation deals. The Rio San Juan golf course is considered as one of the most beautiful in the world. The Playa Grand Hotel is located close to this course and offers some great golfing deals.
